Product Overview

In the United States, a household is broken into every 15.4 seconds with one of the most common points of entry being the garage door. A burglar can enter your garage door in about six seconds with a simply coat hanger just by hooking and pulling the quick release lever. SecureShield protects your family from outside access to your garage door by covering the quick release but still allowing you to pull the quick release rope in emergencies. It is easy to install and works with most garage door openers. Give your family peace of mind and keep them safe from burglars with SecureShield from First Watch Security.

  • Helps prevent garage door break-ins
  • Easy to install in minutes
  • Works with most overhead garage doors
  • Protects the quick release but still allows you to pull the emergency rope as normal
  • Note: does not work with belt drive garage doors

Customer Reviews

SecureShield Garage Door Quick Release Cover is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from DOES NOT WORK Good idea, just does not work. If you were outside and hooked this box with a coat hanger you can pull the box and the release lever down. The only thing I can see is it might make it more difficult to get the hanger to catch the first try, so the thief could still get it with a little patience. I bought 6 and after installing 1 I am returning the others for a refund.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did not fit Bought this for a Martin door; will not fit. No indication at the manufacturer's web site which doors this works for.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Secure Shield great idea, but this device did not fit my liftmaster 1/2 horse power professional line door was about 5/16 inch to short and about 3/16 inch to narrow to fit over the release assembly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works wonderfully This shield arrived quickly, and was able to be installed in a few minutes. The garage door opening mechanism still works well, and in an emergency the release latch can still operate. It offers great protection!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from May or may not work ... where is your opener's light ? It did the job of being a good fit for my Liftmaster garage door. Installed very easily by following the instructions. What they don't show on instructions in after device is installed in a fully retracted open position. My opener has one light cover in front and the SecureShield hits the light cover in the fully open retracted position (and one of the two will break if you don't emergency stop). I think the SecureShield would probably work if you had dual side lights on your opener, but I can't see it working on an opener with light to the front.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from works well with my genie opener Its a bit expensive for what it is, but its money well spent to eliminate the break in threat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great It took less then 5 mins. to install and works great

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product I have a Genie Power Lift 900 series garage door opener. The only problem I had with the SecureShield was the plastic screw that levels the SecureShield to the carriage was not long enough. Had to purchase a longer screw at Home Depot in order for the shield to hang level.
