I had to prune 2 large oak trees that had branches growing over my roof which we giving squirrels access to my roof & attic. The snips cut through 1" thick branches easily. The saw cut through the thicker branches easy as well. When using the saw, it'll cut as you pull back, so pull back smooth and long so it'll cut as much as possible without much effort. The saw is held by a single small bolt with wingnut, it unfortunately loosens down after pruning a branch off, so you should retighten each time. The extension pole is very versatile and holds well. However, the farther its extended out, the more wobbly it becomes. Still, the extra length saved me from having to borrow an extension ladder, which I get nervous climbing.

We saw a professional gardner using something similar to trim palm tree fronds and started looking for something ourselves. This particular model gets good to great reviews. Lowe's sells something similar that got awful reviews. After reading all, once we brought the tool home, my husband tightened up all the nuts and screws. He used the blade to trim off palm fronds and the built in cutter device (using the rope cord) to trim low handing branches off our Bradford Pear. Overall, an excellent tool so far. Husband said he liked this so much better than having to stand on a ladder and use a saw blade.

I bought this in oder to partially cut down a tree that i didnt want in my back yard. It was a smaller sized tree that put a lot of leaves on the ground to rake up each week. It cut through the smaller branches with ease and I used the saw portion to cut off the branches. It extends for further reach which is a plus. When I used the cutting portion, the extension device dislodged from the pole and i had to keep tightening it throughout the trimming. The saw blade is sharp and its easy to assemble. The blade to cut the branches is pretty sharp as well and it cuts with ease as long as you have a good grip on the rope and handle. Make aure you have a good geip on the pole when you cut because it sometimes falls quickly and can injure someone if they are standing nearby. Also make sure not to stand under the limbs you are trimming. Wear safety glasses too.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JayFatCity This is the first time I've ever used a bypass pruner and was VERY impressed. Cut like a champ right out of the packaging and the built in lopper was simple to use. I thought the string was used for the saw blade and was apprehensive when I purchased this product, but was pleased to learn that it's for the lopper. I would recommend this product to anyone!

It works very well for small branches, light in weight. Does better than the gas or power pruners

I have an oak tree that was developing some dead branches on the lower limbs. This tool worked wonders. The snipper handled branches up to about 1 1/4 inch in diameter and the saw blade was amazingly effective on the bigger branches.
The extension worked well so it was easy to adjust for the length needed. It took a bit to figure out how to properly adjust the rope on the snipper, but once done it worked very well.
The tool exceeded my expectations.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mike Great pole saw
I just purchased this saw today. Was a little skeptical because the price was so reasonable that it worried me at first. There are other similar pole saws at double/triple and more the price of this one, however, this one did a great job on doing what I needed it to do. I was surprised at how easy it cut the smaller branches with the cord pull cutter. The saw easily cut through the larger branches. I am very pleased with this purchase.

This thing's several feet longer than any other similar trimmers I was able to find at the same price point. Why, I'm not sure, because the quality seems to be fine.
I'm actually a little scared of how easily the saw went through the pine branch I needed to remove. It was probably 4-5 inches across, and this thing went through it like butter.
I also used the smaller clipper on a few small branches, and that was equally impressive. Required almost no effort to slice through. I used it on one branch that was the biggest you could possibly fit inside the jaw, and that still presented little resistance.
