The saw has very sharp carbide tips and easily cuts through the red oak in my back yard. the 1" small limb cutter makes a clean cut every time. The locking mechanism upper lock nut needed to be tightened and a lock nut added to stop the nut from loosening. The bolt must be loose enough for the lever to move to the locked position. The locking lever should move freely at the upper position but give resistance at the lower travel. Most trimmers may not need this adjustment but the lock nut on mine is not locking as it should.

This is my second fiskars pruner with extension. Blade got dull on my first one and broke near the blade from pushing too hard.

The 14 ft pruner was easier to use than I thought. It felt a little awkward at first but practice makes perfect.
It came in handy after a storm bent some limbs and partially broke some. I am sure it will come in handy in the future and the price was very affordable.

Sturdy and high-quality. I used this cutting down a tree that had given me trouble and my chainsaw was stuck. It kept me at a safe distance and cut through the tree quickly. Would definitely recommend.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by purplepain Beware the telescoping joint
Every product has some bad reviews, but with so many good reviews to offset it, I figured this would be a good purchase. I was wrong. If you look at the one star reviews, almost every one has the same issue; the telescoping joint does not hold the two pieces together, and if you try to tighten the screws sufficiently to hold, the plastic joint breaks. This is exactly my experience. I tightened the joint as much as I dared, but it still would not hold. I am now trying some gorilla glue and then tightening it to get the base to hold. But there is no way to glue the other end and still have an adjustable pole. Very frustrating. I have no idea how all the five star reviews are getting their tools to hold together. My brother has an older Fiskars pole saw that has a much better joint that you tighten by hand. I would gladly pay the extra money for a tool that worked.

We literally purchased this 30 minutes ago. Brought it home, took it out of the package, cut 3 branches and it broke! The metal part that wraps around the branch snapped off. Will be returning in the morning. Don't waste your time on this one!

Working on our ancestoral home started with building a road to it. 3 axle dump trucks delivered 54 T of sized limestone but overhanging limbs and branches proved to be a sizeable foe to said deliveries.
The pruner, fully extended to 14', opened the canopy sufficiently to facilitate truck movement including full tilt dump bed emptying and tarp covering, about 20 feet of overall clearance.
The weight and balance when fully extended was manageable. The saw teeth cut with the pull stroke making large limb cuts easier than expected. Any longer pole would make it cumbersome.

Don’t settle for the 12 foot edition of this pruner if you have a choice. I bought this one with the thought that I didn’t need the extra length, but for a few dollars more decided it might be worth it. Good call. This is a great pruner and I heartily recommend it. I continue to search my property for branches to needlessly cut. This thing is addictive!
