Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by works better than expected I ordered this online with some plants. My yard has rather dense soil around it and I've been using this to dig holes to plant new plants in the flower beds and remove weeds from the yard. this has a sharp tip that helps cut through tough dirt and help loosen up the soil to be able to pull weeds without having to dig a large hole in the yard to remove deep routed weeds. This also works well as a narrow garden spade for planting. it's good to have in the shed for working in the garden. June 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Extremely useful garden digging tool. When you first look at this tool it looks very clean and robust. My Grandson, when he first saw it, said it looked like a weapon! It does. It has a serrated edge on one side and a sharp edge on the other side. It has a tip that has a cutout area that would be good for pulling weeds out. The handle is very big and comfortable. I swear it looks like something a Special Forces or Navy Seals person would carry into combat! But it does serve very well in my back yard for garden preparation and top soil spreading. Both edges cut quickly. I used it today to cut open a bag of topsoil and it sliced the bag open with ease. Then, I started pulling the soil out of the bag and I realized why the blade is wide - it grabs a big chunk of topsoil and spreads very easily. Wow. Cut, pull, spread. I then used the serrated edge to cut up the soil and smooth it out. You cannot carry this tool on your person as the blade is greater than 5.5 inches so beware! A great tool that replaces a typical digger tool that I have been using. Love it. There ya go! June 15, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by My Favorite Garden Tool Ever But... Love the features of this tool. You can leave the rest of the tools in the shed all you need is this one for digging small holes, planting, cutting roots, weeding. It doesn't pass the Anita test though. I am very hard on everything. So I broke it. So don't try digging up rocks with it. I live in Schoharie County NY and we grow rocks. So to do any gardening, we have to remove them. This tool didn't stand up to that. Since the price is great I would love to get 3 more but this is a seasonal item and out of stock. Sad face. July 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great new Fiskars tool This is a great new Fiskars garden tool. it is large enough for all planting, weeding, digging, and even cutting and opening bags. It's strong, has one flat blade and one serrated blade with a forked tip for pulling weeds. It cut through tough compacted roots easily and that was the greatest part of the tool for me as I had a couple of outdoor potted plants that needed transplanting and they were root-bound. This tool with its serrated edge was perfect. I also love the forked tip as it gets to the deep roots of Dandelions and pops them right out. I've found many uses for it in the garden and it is a keeper in my garden tool kit. May 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by AWESOME FOR FLOWER PLANTING A good brand name makes another good product. Have lots of tree roots which makes it hard to plant flowers until this tool came along. This beast cuts right through small roots of all kinds allowing for much easier digging of holes for planting flowers. A standard spade is great for soft beds, this tool is for the tough beds where a spade is a workout this one makes easy work of it. Didn't even break when I hit a few rocks. The plastic tip guard was an okay idea but I lost it right away, too small. Would benefit from a sleeve of some sort as the point and edges are sharp. A must have for the outdoor gardener with rough terrain and the metal detector who digs holes everywhere in all kinds of soil. June 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent choice for any gardener! This big knife is a must for any avid or do-it-yourself gardener! The big rubberized handle is easy to handle and grip. It is easy to maneuver even with garden gloves on. It is able to dig, as well as cut through roots without having to change tools. There is a gauge embossed on the spade section for depth for planting bulbs. I highly recommend this product!! June 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Favorite Garden Tool This knife has become my favorite go to garden tool. It works great for repotting large plants, shrubs or small trees. The knife easily cuts away some of the excess roots and stays sharp. It works well in removing grass and other weeds from areas of overgrowth . It pulls out dandelions and small seedlings without any effort. The knife works well in diving plants, bulbs, especially tall irises. Keep it handy or you will miss it. June 1, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 2nd best tool...for just about everything in the garden If there is one tool you carry out to your garden every time, this should be it. There may be 10 better tools for 10 different jobs, but if you have this with you, you will use it - - and be happy you did. For example: Transplanting seedlings Ripping out weeds eight inches below the soil surface Sawing off invasive roots underground Cutting open bags of peat moss Plowing a furrow to plant seed Cutting a perfect square out of sod Edging overgrown grass from a sidewalk (OK, for a short stretch) Etc, etc. etc. Construction is very nice. The aluminum blade is quite sharp, so be careful!! (Fiskars, you might consider selling a sheath.) The padding isn't very soft, but the handle should be able to take any abuse you can dish out. Easy to clean with a garden hose. All in all, a great product, especially for the price. June 8, 2016
