If you clean after each use and occasionally spray with WD 40 or some type of light oil it will protect it from rust.

I have a pruner that is broken, I was reading that it is life time waranty, does Home Depot can fix it or exchange?

Asked by: Juan
Hello Juan. If you purchased them less than 90 days ago Home Depot should exchange it. If it was more than 90 days ago, I would contact Fiskars customer service and file a claim to get a replacement: 1 (866) 348-5661 http://www2.fiskars.com/Support/Customer-Service Hope this helps.

5.5 in. Bypass Pruner is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 291.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Okay Pruners, But Not Great at All Okay Pruners, But Not Great at All Okay so I bought this pair of medium duty bypass pruners at the same time as the Fiskars light duty bypass pruners. And to tell the truth the light duty pair are better… When I use these I need the light duty pair as well. because for me these only cut branches around 1/3 inch in diameter any less than that and they don’t cut properly! The woods they work well on are: Maple/Crepe myrtle /peach /and Bradford pear They hate pine /cypress /oak and more. Pros: Works well on some branches 1/3 inch in diameter. Good hand feel. Strong blade. Cons Will not work on twigs. They squeak even when oiled. I’d give it 2 out of 5 on twigs. And 4 out of 5 for the things they actually managed to cut. Would I recommend these? Most likely not. I might try to get a replacement from Fiskars in case this pair is just a dud. Oh and a little tip: it’s a good idea to wipe the blades and moving parts with a lightly oiled rag or paper towel to prevent rust and help keep the blades sharp. Thanks for reading my review!

They are sharp and strong. I found these work well in combination with larger loppers if you are trying to trim trees in your yard. I used these on my Christmas tree as well to cut the bottom branches so that the tree would fit through the door. In the pictures below I was trimming a holly tree. If you are cutting larger branches, the pruner works better if you put the branch as deep as possible inside the pruner to get the extra leverage. I would definitely buy them again if I lost them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fiskars brand pruners. When I removed product from packaging tool would not close. I had to file a half inch section of the blade in order to close and use the tool. At first I thought the tool was useless and had to be returned. However being on the job with no alternative I had to figure out a solution. Thus filing down the blade. It works ok but still sticks when trying to open it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from They cut well, but return spring has issues We had a pair of these, and the return spring slipped out of place and was lost. We purchased another pair, and after a few minutes of use, the same thing happened. I think we will be returning these in favor of another brand.
