Answer:
I wouldn't use them to cut wire, just for the fact of dulling the blades. You could use a pair of side cutters or linemen's pliers. It really depends on the thickness of the wire as to what type of tool to use.

It will only cut through very thin wire, like chicken wire. I wouldn't want to wear out the sharpness of these pruners by using them to cut wires.

I've not tried cutting wire with this tool.
I would not suggest one use the Pruner as a wire cutting tool
as the cutting edge may be nicked, necessitating sharpening.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product for basement dance studio Product is very easy to install, looks great and is the perfect floor covering for a basement. August 13, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad I bought these and they didn't work after a few months. When you try to cut a small twig, they simply bend it over and don't cut. If you tighten up the screws, so that they work, they are then too hard to operate and don't spring open by themselves. I've used other Fiskars products and liked them a lot. I returned these and bought the Compound Anvil Pruners and they seem to be much better. July 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Just perfect! Not too heavy with the comfortable handle for my cuttings. I use it daily to cut my beans, Okras and a lot of different Asian vegetables! Now I'm thinking to buy a spare one because I have a bad habit of misplaced things easily. August 6, 2016
