Answer:
I wouldn't use them to cut wire, just for the fact of dulling the blades. You could use a pair of side cutters or linemen's pliers. It really depends on the thickness of the wire as to what type of tool to use.

It will only cut through very thin wire, like chicken wire. I wouldn't want to wear out the sharpness of these pruners by using them to cut wires.

I've not tried cutting wire with this tool.
I would not suggest one use the Pruner as a wire cutting tool
as the cutting edge may be nicked, necessitating sharpening.

Answer:
Hello Juan. If you purchased them less than 90 days ago Home Depot should exchange it.
If it was more than 90 days ago, I would contact Fiskars customer service and file a claim to get a replacement: 1 (866) 348-5661 http://www2.fiskars.com/Support/Customer-Service
Hope this helps.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Fiskars brand pruners. When I removed product from packaging tool would not close. I had to file a half inch section of the blade in order to close and use the tool. At first I thought the tool was useless and had to be returned. However being on the job with no alternative I had to figure out a solution. Thus filing down the blade. It works ok but still sticks when trying to open it. September 29, 2016
