Used them to dig 4 post holes and as I was digging one of the post arms started to bend. I'm not a big guy but just my force bent the pole. I bent it back but all the paint chipped off. Just worried how long they will last considering the cost. Worked good digging the holes tho.

Other post hole diggers become useless at about 18". Fiskars design allowed me to dig a hole 3 feet deep with ease.

The post hold digger is easy to use and it makes it possible to dig deeper holes than the other manual post hole diggers can dig.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by StanStanHandyMan Goes deep, like they said
building fences with 12' steel posts that need to go down min 3 feet (36") and the two other diggers we have won't let you go past 30" at best, and that is with widening the top of the hole. This claimed to get down and dirty in the hole but was priced high for a digger. The hinge is very stiff and has not yet loosened much. But after digging 42 (so far) of these 3 footer holes in N. Texas black clay soil, I must say that I'm glad I bit the bullet and got one. Lets me get down 36" or even a little further without ever widening the hole more than 8". So hopefully the savings on concrete help offset the high price! Does the job and seems to be built to last with all steel handles and thinner blades that help cut down through the clay.

The post hole digger arrived quickly and I was impressed with the quality. I do a lot of
digging around my hobby farm and this digger makes it a snap for us ladies!

This is very stout, with only one drawback, the weight.
There are no worries about bolts coming loose, rotting wood, splinters, etc,. as this thing is all steel. I have the shovel as well, and it's very comparable. The crossover design allowed me to dig down past 4 feet for a basketball hoop without using my hands. about twice as deep as a normal digger. Great purchase.

I am generally happy with Fiskar products. I think they are innovative and I use a number of their tools, but...! This posthole digger is a poor design. The hinge point is too far up from the blades severely reducing the effective length of the lever at the handle end. This means the blades are very difficult, if not impossible, to close for dense clay soils. In addition, the tubular (steel?) handles will bend, and stay bent, if the operator is strong. We did much better with a forty- year-old wooden handle digger we had at hand. Fiskar needs to revisit its design.
