Answer:
Palm fronds are very hard to cut, I have done it but it was tough. You have to normally do it from the top of the palm frond, from the bottom I didn't have any success. A powered trimmer would probably work better.

Answer:
Palms are very stringy (fibrous). I chain sawed a Sable Palm cluster and it just shreds. I suggest you shred with the saw blade then use the cutting trimmer to work off the dangling strings.

Just had the same problem.. Call Fiskars directly and tell them you want a new saw blade. YOu have to convince them because they don't show it sold separately from the assembly head.

Answer:
I haven't actually extended it all the way yet, everything I am trimming I can reach without extending it. But I believe it is 12ft when fully extended, maybe a little more. If I remember correctly when you look at it on line and go into the specs section it should say for sure. Most of my trees are still small enough that I can use it comfortably from a 5ft ladder.

Answer:
I haven't ran into that problem, are you talking about the bypass cutter? I clean mine after each use so the cutter doesn't get sticky or hang up on the housing.
