Rated 5 out of 5Â by Larry Great for digging out shrubs and through roots. American Made.
shovel has good weight to it and the metal blade is thick enough to grind an edge for better chopping and cutting. I The fiberglass handle is getting the job done, but I would have liked the Mfg to make the handle about six inches longer to improve leverage.

When we drew up plans to fix our landscaping, I didn't realize how much trouble I would have trying to relocate plants, bushes, etc. I honestly broke 3-4 handles including one that had been time tested for 30+ years by my neighbor who was involved in construction, farming, etc. Then another neighbor lent me his shovel and my life changed.
It was easy to use, soft on the hands, sliced through the dirt with ease, and it was literally indestructible. I could use all my body weight against the handle like a pry bar to get the root balls out of the ground. It was amazing! I asked him what kind if was, where he got it but he couldn't remember. I turned to the Internet and after doing some homework, found it was this fiskars shovel. I immediately bought two (one for me and one to replace my neighbors that I broke). I could not be more happy with the purchase and in fact it has led to to take a look at purchasing other fiskars products now that I know how well it's built.
BTW, as I was doing my research on the Internet, I saw they also stand behind the lifetime warranty. One guy said he had some fiskar product and he was surprised that it broke but when it did, they mailed him a brand new one, no questions asked. Hard to find products that are this worthy of praise these days and companies that care that much about the end user.
If your looking for the best shovel money can buy, so far, this one has my vote.

This is a good all around shovel. It is heavy and appears strong. Maybe the best shovel for the price. For transferring material, this shovel is a little heavy. For digging, the blade angle (lift) is greater then I like. The blade is heavy gauge but appears to be softer then the forged blade shovels I normally purchase. I have 150 trees to plant in my rocky soil, I will see how this holds up.

I have had this shovel for a number of years and used it for anything you can think of from boulders to roots and hard pan soil. Believe me I have abused this thing and still as sharp and straight as ever.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by MissyJean Best shovel ever!
I bought this shovel because I needed something that would stand up to field work. I had a fiberglass handled shovel before, but alas after a few digs it decided it served a better purpose as a door prop than a shovel.
This shovel, this shovel surprised me. Not only did it dig out stubborn roots it withstood 300 pounds of pressure as me & one other person put all our body weight on the end of this shovel as we were prying a bush out of the ground.
