Good-looking, sturdy, and ready to install. A suggestion: get a brass spigot. The plastic spigot supplied is just adequate.

We actually ordered this product twice. The first rain barrel we picked up at the store was warped and the lid would just not stay on so we returned it and re-ordered. The second one we ordered worked just as advertised. It took probably 30 minutes to install it. I'd recommend following the Fiskars video for excellent directions on how to install it, and I wouldn't depend on the brochure that comes with the rain barrel for the installation. It's all just pictures. Little to no words. Very odd.
Our rain barrel has been installed for about a week now and has filled to the top already once and water diverted perfectly down the downspout once the barrel filled. I can't say that I noticed any bulging of the barrel when it was full as others have noted. But I do agree that the spigot that comes with the rain barrel is very cheaply made. Ours hasn't broken YET, but we're being very careful with it. I expect we'll be buying a metal one eventually to replace the plastic one it came with. Overall, it's an excellent product..I gave it "good" only because it is quite expensive for basically a large plastic trash can with a diverter and the fact that the spigot is nowhere near the quality you'd expect it to be. Otherwise, it gets a huge thumbs up!!!

This is an attractive and very easy to install rain barrel. I would rate the quality as only good as spigot supplied is indeed flimsy. Based on other reviews I upgraded to brass spigot from the get go and makes this rain barrel excellent in quality. The top fits snugly so there is no way that mosquitoes or flies can breed.
I also upgraded the diverter system but hard yet to know whether the clean out feature will be useful or not. I would recommend that the manufacturer eliminate the plastic spigot and diverter, drop the price a bit and allow the consumer to make the choice on these.

The barrel is very well made, however, the spigot is plastic and hard to turn on and off. I had this shipped to the store and picked it up. The top was warped and didn't fit on the barrel. A few days in the sun fixed this problem.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by JACKRJC Excellent Closed Rain Barrel
Works as advertised and expected. I like the flat back and the fact this is a closed system. No critters and excess water goes back down the gutter. This is my second barrel of this type. The first one has worked great for a year. I use their new diverter, not the diverter this barrel came with. I gave this barrel four stars because the pre-drilled spigot opening is a little high. To get the water out of the bottom you have to tip the barrel forward. However, there is a flat surface near the bottom that could be used for a second spigot.

The barrels were easy to assemble and attaching the hose to the downspout went well with the included diverters. Having reviewed this product online beforehand, I ordered the brass spigots to upgrade from the standard plastic ones. I feel for the price of the barrels they should include the brass spigots to satisfy the buyers need for quality. My order came before the suggested shipping date for pick up at the store, but only 2 spigots came in with the three barrels. After waiting a week I checked back and was informed that the last one was back ordered for 3 weeks. The customer service rep at my Home Depot felt this was an unusual delay, so she fixed me up with a brass spigot off the store shelf. I will now be able to install my 3 rd barrel before our next predicted rainfall.

We love our barrel. The only advice I can give is to buy a brass spigot before installing. The one that comes with the barrel is really cheap and won't last long. We bought a spigot for under $10.00

This rain barrel system was very straight-forward to put together. The instructions were easy to understand and it only took about 30 minutes to assemble. Now I have two matching rain barrels in tandem to catch twice as much water.
I found that the higher the platform you mount it on, the better your water pressure. I used 8 16Lx6Wx6H slumpstone blocks assembled in two layers of four squares for the base. I also bought a couple of Veranda composite plastic "cedar" fence planks cut up to form the "table top". For extra strength, I stacked two 8-inch half slumpstone blocks inside of the center of the foundation. Since the barrel holds 55 gallons of water, this equates to 440 pounds!
The faucet comes threaded for a standard garden hose so now I can easily water my raised garden only 8 feet from my completed reclaimed water source!
