This is the first mower I've ever purchased. It's been a joy to work with. Assembly is a breeze; I was able to get it up and going in about 10 minutes. I was fully expecting the front orange blade protector to be plastic, but instead its a strong metal plate; nice surprise. The height and handle adjustments are super easy to use. I've been doing two passes over my medium-size lawn, mostly for a "finished" look, but it does also help to cut down any straglers that the blades hit (I haven't yet taken the time to adjust the blades properly, so this might not be an issue once that is done). There are about 4 or 5 different grass types in my old lawn and this mower cuts them all well. I've had at least 5 people complement me on my choice of mower.

It came almost fully assembled and I have not had to touch the blades so far (two full cuts). I have a large back yard and this reel mower works really well. Goodbye to gas cans, oil, filters, fumes and noise. I am very happy with this purchase.

Assembly was a breeze. The adjustments for the height, are really easy. If you don't have thick plush grass, Stick to gas powered. When it comes to dandelions, and tall grasses this mower just pushes them over instead of cutting.

Great reel mower. Old one required 3 passes. This, just one and easy to push. Even got through 6" high grass. Just adjust the blades as per directions and you are good to go

Starting up my third season with this mower and I have to say I love it.
I'm a first time homeowner and I didn't have much cash left when we moved in so I got the cheapest Fiskars mower and my only regret is that I didn't get the best model as I assume it's even awesomer. I have a midsized suburban lot and this mower is all we need, I don't know why anyone in the neighborhood uses anything more. One time we came back from vacation while it had been super rainy at home and the mower bogged down in a couple tall thick spots, but i just raised the height setting, (which you can do in like 7 seconds!), and went over those areas twice. It's light and small, I hang it on a nail in the garage so it doesn't take up any space at all. I've got the grass catcher too, which is nice when the grass is longer or I'm going to have company over soon.

This mower is a great option for a smaller lawn although my lawn is large I can mow it in about 45 minutes. It is similar to pushing an old gas mower (one without the auto drive) as long as you don't let the grass go more than a week as I had done in this photo due to rain and sickness but it still cut through the high grass with some definite effort put forth. Overall I would definitely recommend this to anyone that has a small lawn and is willing to keep up on their grass by mowing weekly. It is high quality and seems that it will last for a long while with minimum operating costs (it claims that you only need to sharpen every 5 years)

The Fiskars lawnmower was not hard to assemble even though I had only adjustable wrenches and a screwdriver. It works flawlessly even with an overgrown lawn. It's very important to follow instructions carefully however in settings and use. Blades must be cleaned and oiled after each use to prevent rust which will quickly take off the sharp edges.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Abqmichaelj Simple mower simplifies mowing
I have a small urban yard that, in the summer, requires weekly mowing. This mower fits in a corner of my shed. I can pull it out and be mowing in about ten seconds. It mows about as fast and easy as any power mower, then stores up in another ten seconds. All in all, those aspects make it much more useful than a power mower.
One downside is that this mower won't chew through sticks, garden hoses, tennis balls or clothespins. I do have to pick up the yard before mowing. Another is that it doesn't work well on super long grass. It's better at it than other push mowers but not great. If that describes your lawn's normal state, you won't like any push mower.
