Customer Questions & Answers

We have a lot of oak trees (thus acorns...) in our yard. Would this mower work or would we have a problem with acorns getting caught in the blades?

Asked by: TCTrio
We have a tree that drops these spinny balls in the fall, about the size of a gulf ball. It only takes a few minutes to rake them up, otherwise, they do get stuck. But I love my new lawn mower!

I can't push my mower forward, the blade appears to get stuck and won't go forward. It will move backwards.

Asked by: Ben4U2
The locking nut on the smaller chain cog may have worked itself loose, or may have fallen off completely.

Has anyone used this mower with a fenced in yard?

I am just wondering because of the protruding front wheels if you would be able to mow inside fenced corners efficiently, seeing that the front wheel would hit the fence and stop the blades from going into the corner areas of my backyard.
Asked by: HonestScott
I do use a sickle for trimming in corners and right around posts.

StaySharp Max 18 in. Push Walk Behind, Non-Powered, Non-Electrical Reel Lawn Mower (6201) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 358.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Mower This Mower is easier to push than a gas Mower! If you hit a tall thick spot Mower might stop just back up a little and give her a good push no problem! Takes less time than a push mower to mow whole yard! One minor problem I was gonna make a small blade adjustment and the factory bolts are really tight. It started to round off on of the bolts! Went ahead and moved with no problems at all. I'll spray some lube on bolt and try that. My opinion is don't let your yard get above 5"-6" the shorter it is when you mow the easier it is to push. Pick up sticks and rocks in yard before you mow. I wish I would have got one of these mowers earlier

I really look forward to mowing our lawn. After being fed up with our gardener's lawn mower distroying the grass blades every week, and the loud noise of the leaf blower, I surprised my husband with my new toy! It's so light and easy to use, and we have four different sections of lawn to mow. I purchased the basket but have not opened it yet after about three months. No need to, the grass cuttings that shoot back into the lawn are actually giving back nitrogen. The only improvement would be that the wheels turned like my favorite suitcase wheels that swivel or spin. It seems everyone wants to play with my new toy. :) I also recommend, Milogranite on your lawn at least every six to eight weeks. Just don't forget to shower after since it's an organic fertilizer!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great mower Love this mower. It's quiet. It throws the grass out front instead of on your feet and legs. You can mow in the rain (it rains a lot here and can't wait for dry days). Some people expect too much and don't actually compare all aspects. Electric mowers are noisy and I would need huge extension cord to reach inside and outside my fence. Gas mowers also noisy and run out of gas just before finishing so I'm racing to get done. And my favourite thing is not having to continually stop and scrape away wet clogged grass. No harder to push then gas mowers unless you let your lawn get out of control at which point every mower is difficult

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like how easy it was to put it together... I like how easy it was to put it together but make sure you pay attention to the blades. They are really sharp and will cut you if your not careful. The only thing I wish it had in the box was a clipping bag. This is the easiest push mower I have ever used.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you are looking for a mower for a large... If you are looking for a mower for a large lawn, or a high landscaped lawn this is probably not the mower for you. If you are looking for an incredible easy quiet simple mower to cut down a small to medium lawn this thing is amazing. Highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An absolutely amazing reel mower! I've been using an older reel mower for the past few years and it finally got too hard to use you'd have to mow the same spot 3 or 4 times so it finally got too difficult to use ,but I hated the idea of going back to a noisy, smelly gas mower ,after reading the mostly positive reviews of Fiskars we decided to try it and WOW it works great and cuts in 1 pass! ,some reviews said it's hard to push but it's no harder than a gas mower and cuts just as well and we live in Texas and I'm over 50 so have Texas heat and humidity plus St. Augustine grass to deal with and we're completely satisfied and would recommend Fiskars to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great spite purchase I bought this mower after my wife said "can't you ever make a practical purchase." Having bought it completely out of spite I was nervous that I'd have to pretend how well it works (again for spite) but it turns out to be a great mower anyway. I'm very happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great company and product Extremely happy. The design, engineering, and build quality are typical of other Fiskars products I use. Pushes and cuts easily due to chain drive of rotating blade not actually contacting stationary cutting bar, allowing great clean cut without the extra friction/wear on the cutting surfaces. Grass clippings look like they were cut with scissors. Easily adjusts cutting height from 1.5 to 4 inches. Only issue I noticed is the cutting height adjustment gauge interferes with setting cut to full 4". I removed the gauge as it really is not needed. i would have liked a 24" model if it was available.
