Will this product work?

I have two ceramic tiles in the kitchen that creak when walked on... Will this product fix the creaking noise?

Do you have to drill multiple holes?

I hear the hollow and cracking under the tile but I'm afraid to drill more than one hole. Does it have to have another hole for the excess to come out from ?
Asked by: frankie
I drilled multiple holes but the excess didn't come out the other side. So I just squeezed the liquid in each hole and wiped away any excess glue after I put the weights on the tile.

After the weight used to hold tiles down is placed, some of the product seeps out. Will this clean easy after it dries?

Asked by: David
No, after the product dries it appear difficult to remove. If you tile is porous, it may be permanently stained. It cleans up easily with a wet rag immediately after applying. Clean up at that time, and the results are great.

Can I use this with cracked/crumbling grout?

My grout lines are already crumbling around the lose tile (I can vacuum up bits of grout). Can I just clean out the grout line and inject this? I'm afraid it won't build up enough pressure to get under the tile. Or, should I re-grout the tiles, let the grout fully harden, then install the adhesive?
Asked by: Matt
I had some small cracks in the grout and it worked fine...actually repaired the cracks, Someone mentioned putting painters tape over the grout to keep it from flowing out to fast. If grout is missing I would repair the grout first.

Instead of ripping off all of them I've decided to give Fix-A-Floor a try. I have very narrow 1/8" or even less of space between tiles. So, instead of drilling a hole I've used an utility knife to take grout out. Next I've use a blue painters tape to cover voids leaving enough space for an end of tip to stick in. Fist two tubes went into a total waist as my cheap caulking gun broken the bottom of tubes spilling a glue all over the place. Instead of giving up I've ordered a heavy duty caulking gun on Amazon: Newborn 250 Super Smooth Rod Revolving Frame Caulking Gun which cost me $20. And it worked great. Just don't apply lot of pressure - when you feel a great resistance just move to the next hole. I hope it will help.

I wish I had used this stuff before trying to chisel out loose tiles and re-thinset. Be advised that your tiles need to be very loose and hollow at the injection point for the product to flow. If the edges of the tile are secure to the floor (but the tile is hollow in the center), then the product will not penetrate. Pushing too hard on the caulk gun trigger will cause the glue to spill all over the top of the floor. Light pressure is all that is needed when drilled a successful hole.

I rarely write reviews but I was so pleased with this product I felt I should share. I bought this product as a last-ditch effort after having bought a faulty decoupling mat (see my other review), thinking I would have to rip up a lot of tile. I bought three tubes of this for my bathroom floor and followed the easy directions. Miracle of all miracles, it worked and the tile is bonded firmly - even after 2 months. I recommend getting more than you'll think you'll need - it's better to use more, in my opinion. Worth every penny.

Quality control could be a problem for this product, vendor or inventory control by HD. The first tube I ordered worked great! I ordered two more tubes for the rest of the project. Prepped the area (drilled holes in the grout) and when the first tube was empty, opened the second tube. It had mostly congealed and was unusable. The third tube was even worse. This was within 3 weeks of receiving the material from HD. The two tubes were returned for credit. Two more tubes ordered and I'll update when I get those.

It works, but what they don't really advertise is that you'll need to use a lot more of this stuff than the video makes it appear. If you read the Q&A you can get an idea. I was able to get about 2.5 12"X12" tiles per tube, but I needed more (a couple tiles didn't fill completely). So it's safe to say I probably needed 1 tube for every 2sq ft to do it right. If you have to fix more than a few tiles, for the price you'll pay on this stuff, you might as well just go get replacement tiles, thin-set, and grout.

Repaired two different places with "clicking" ceramic tiles.... filled all the voids & eliminated all the clicking.... used one full tube & 1/2 of 2nd tube. Applied weight for 24 hours per instructions. Only tricky part is matching grout color..... which I did by blending two different color tubes of grout repair. Repair undetectable at minimum cost without replacing floor tiles ! Not sure why this product is special order only from Georgia.... So. Cal stores do not stock this item.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not for exterior use Fix-a-floor appears to be water soluble, which makes it unsuitable for exterior use and possibly other areas that encounter water
