Product Overview

This is a rugged, industrial grade disposable pleated air filter. It features a synthetic fiber filtering medium that is laminated to an expanded metal backing. This combination is then folded into an accordion pleat arrangement to increase filtering surface. This greater filtering surface allows more effective filtration while keeping airflow resistance low. The media pack is encased and sealed within a die-cut, moisture resistant frame. Performance level is MERV 8.

  • MERV rating: 8

Customer Questions & Answers

Wepurchased the 20X24X1 filters here...which IS our normal...ALL items in the case measue 231/2X24X1 leaving a gap

WHY does this happen...?? Especially after we waited over a week to get them shipped?
Asked by: EllieSue
It REALLY makes no sense at all to show completely different measurements than what is on the product itself...That is VERY confusing....just put on the product WHAT the actual measurements are...and here is the thing...we have been buying the 20X24X1 size filters for 15+ years....WHY now since we MUST order them (not sold in stores anymore) do they all of a sudden not fit?? I mean since ordering these...I have waited 11 days to receive them.....That is like ordering a dress in your size 10 and they send you an 8 and expect it to fit you...!! smh...shouldnt have to order a product to find out what size it is...Thanks.

How often do the Pre-Pleat filters need to be replaced?

Asked by: pawpaw1
The Pre-Pleat 40 filters are manufactured to last up to 90 days each depending on your environment. The air outside your home is a factor in the longevity of the filter as well. Outside dust and pollens require more filtration. If your unit is running spring, summer, and fall, frequent changes may be required. The longer the unit runs, the more air that’s being filtered, causing the filter to get dirty quicker. Winter months may not require as many changes. We suggest you check your filter at the end of each month to determine change out time.

I have Flanders Air Filters Measuring 17 1/4 X 35 1/4

They are Pleated and I have ordered a pack of 12 previously, however; unable to find same size. Please help---
Asked by: Antiques56
Custom Sizes: Finding the right filter is simple. If your filter size is unusual and not found in the store, custom sizes can be made. Take your measurements and this model # (80055d01799) to the customer service counter and ask them to special order for you.

What should I replace the Flanders Energy Air filter 20x25x1 with?

What should I replace the Flanders Energy Air filter 20x25x1 with? I don't see this model online at Home Depot or Amazon. I was about to order the Flanders Pre-Pleat 40 Air Filter (Case of 12), but then read in the questions and answers that the Pre-Pleat is for commercial furnaces and air conditioners. Ours in a residential unit. I need to get filters that fit my new high efficiency AC/ Furnace. Please advise.
Asked by: Kate
Thanks for the inquiry. A good replacement option would be a the RHEEM 20" x 25" x 1". The undercut is 1/8" versus 1/2" on the pre-pleat 40 air filter.

18 in. x 20 in. x 1 in. Pre-Pleat 40 Air Filter (Case of 12) is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Pri¢e doubled from last $ummer I bought a case of 12 for $30 last summer and now I check the price and it's over $60 now...I'm not ordering this one anymore. I'm going down market and with less pressure drop. I'm seeking a lower restrictive filter. Probably the E* ***w model will be well performing enough--it just needs to catch dust. All the professionals say pleated is no good for the system health long term plus extra electric use due to longer system on times I'm sure. Forget air quality-- air outside is horrible and my workplace is nasty air quality no one wants to foot the bill for filtered air. Forget about it. Who really cares, an AC is for cold air. Corporate greed I tell you. This is disgusting price hike tactics. You lost me as a customer. They made enough money until they found some buyers right? Ha ha ha im not your slave anymore:-*:-*:-*:-P:-$:-$:-P(+_+)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Product is great The product is the size I needed and is not available in the store - so good thing it is available online. I was told by the staff that home delivery (also free) would be much slower than store delivery. So I went for store delivery - and I wasn't happy that it took longer than the estimated home delivery time. The product itself is what I expected - fits well and works well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does what it's supposed to My air conditioning contractor had installed these with the new construction. They work fine and don't restrict flow so I decided to use them again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good, With Some Caveats I just can't recommend this product. Yes, it's cheaper than other air filters with similar MERV ratings. However, when I installed, I immediately noticed a few things: (1) they're really about 19 3/4" x 19 3/4' x 1" - not much of a difference, but enough play to perhaps allow air to flow around the seams, depending on your configuration; (2) the hot aqua border that you see in the pic - that's on both sides, so whereas a 3M filter is pure white on the side that faces outside of the grill, this one has the aqua border and writing that you can clearly see; and (3) the cardboard crosspieces show as well - again, the side that faces out on a 3M filter is completely white and without the cardboard crosspieces, this one shows. If these items don't bother you, then perhaps this is a great filter for you. However, if you don't want to read "PRE-PLEAT 40" in aqua when you look at your filter grill, then maybe this isn't your best bet. I'm going to use through this case I purchased, then most likely go back to the 3M - they're more expensive, but have a more solid fit and are aesthetically pleasing. Just my two cents worth.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really Good deal Flanders filters ordered online were <50% the cost of buying a single filter in the local store. These were installed in our new AC unit and keep it very efficient. White filter allows easy inspection for when to replace them. Very pleased with this product and value.
