Ellie, the actual size of the Pre Pleat 40, 20x24x1 is 19-1/2x24-1/2x3/4. You have listed 23-1/2x24x1, please clarify. If the size is not satisfactory please return to the store for an exchange or a refund. Stores can also order custom and special sizes if needed.

Outside dust and pollens require more filtration. If your unit is running spring, summer, and fall, frequent changes may be required. The longer the unit runs, the more air that’s being filtered, causing the filter to get dirty quicker. Winter months may not require as many changes. We suggest you check your filter at the end of each month to determine change out time. Read Less

Answer:
Custom Sizes:
Finding the right filter is simple. If your filter size is unusual and not found in the store, custom sizes can be made. Take your measurements and this model # (80055d01799) to the customer service counter and ask them to special order for you.

What should I replace the Flanders Energy Air filter 20x25x1 with?

What should I replace the Flanders Energy Air filter 20x25x1 with? I don't see this model online at Home Depot or Amazon. I was about to order the Flanders Pre-Pleat 40 Air Filter (Case of 12), but then read in the questions and answers that the Pre-Pleat is for commercial furnaces and air conditioners. Ours in a residential unit.
I need to get filters that fit my new high efficiency AC/ Furnace.
Please advise.

Answer:
Thanks for the inquiry. A good replacement option would be a the RHEEM 20" x 25" x 1". The undercut is 1/8" versus 1/2" on the pre-pleat 40 air filter.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Does what it's supposed to My air conditioning contractor had installed these with the new construction. They work fine and don't restrict flow so I decided to use them again. September 6, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Really Good deal Flanders filters ordered online were <50% the cost of buying a single filter in the local store. These were installed in our new AC unit and keep it very efficient. White filter allows easy inspection for when to replace them. Very pleased with this product and value. December 29, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great AC filters I buy AC filters by the case because the size I use is sometimes hard to find and it saves me money. These filters are high quality for a low price. I also like the convenience of picking them up at the store. June 11, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Flanders Filters Recd 1st shipment stained and damaged 2nd shipment was stained April 14, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good, With Some Caveats I just can't recommend this product. Yes, it's cheaper than other air filters with similar MERV ratings. However, when I installed, I immediately noticed a few things: (1) they're really about 19 3/4" x 19 3/4' x 1" - not much of a difference, but enough play to perhaps allow air to flow around the seams, depending on your configuration; (2) the hot aqua border that you see in the pic - that's on both sides, so whereas a 3M filter is pure white on the side that faces outside of the grill, this one has the aqua border and writing that you can clearly see; and (3) the cardboard crosspieces show as well - again, the side that faces out on a 3M filter is completely white and without the cardboard crosspieces, this one shows. If these items don't bother you, then perhaps this is a great filter for you. However, if you don't want to read "PRE-PLEAT 40" in aqua when you look at your filter grill, then maybe this isn't your best bet. I'm going to use through this case I purchased, then most likely go back to the 3M - they're more expensive, but have a more solid fit and are aesthetically pleasing. Just my two cents worth.
