Use of new jacuzzi jet ports for repair/replacement?

This question is from Flexjet Whirlpool Trim Only in Biscuit
Asked by
Mick
Lewiston, NY
March 9, 2012
We have a whirlpool tub that we put in from Home Depot about twelve years ago. The ports have all become dirty, stained, broken, and just plain ugly. We are wondering if:
1. The Kohler ones shown in the on-line Home Depot site can be used to replace the existing ugly ones?
2. Since we are not really sure if the piping fixtures, etc. were Kohler to begin with, we are wondering if these ports are pretty standard or is each manufacturer's unique and they are not interchangeable?
3. In the event this fix is possible, is it a difficult or unpredictable process to remove the old ones and replace with new ones?
4. Note: We have access to the back and front of just two of our eight ports. The rest we just have access from the inside facing surface of the tub.

Hope you can answer our question.

Thank you,

Michael

Thank you for your inquiry. The flexjets are not interchangeable with other manufacturer's whirlpools. Assuming you have a KOHLER unit, you may be able to replace them with current flexjets, and you would replace them from inside the whirlpool, so access panels would not be necessary. If you have access to the whirlpool pump, KOHLER models have a label that provides a model number, which would be helpful. Read Less
