Flood is the best product I have ever used. I have used others but this is by far the best. The color is a beautiful rich cedar shade, it goes on very smooth and covered my old deck great, in fact it made it look like new again. Clean up was a breeze also. I just love the look of my deck so much that I can't stop looking at it. I bought 10 gallons and have used almost all of them. I have a lot of decking around my pool, I also have a back and side deck and lots of railings. We also have a gazebo with railings going around it that is what I am going to use Flood on next. The neighbors have made comments on how good our deck looks. And I agree it looks fantastic! If anyone is thinking of weather proofing there deck my advice is get Flood, you won't be sorry.

I have a 250 FT wooden fence that I have recently stained with Flood One Coat Cedar. The coverage rate was not as advertised, but I never really go by that anyways. The wood seemed to soak up the stain and it took a good bit to cover the fence (30-32 gallons). A painter had estimated 22, so it wasn't too far off.
I used a roller for one side, but it seemed slow because the boards were not perfectly flat and a lot of areas were not getting covered, which required rolling in a different direction, etc. I began using a deck stain pad and have had good luck with it. The pad is tough and holds up well to the friction against a wooden fence. I back brush to ensure the stain is worked in well. The spaces in between the boards is difficult to cover with a brush. This method takes a lot of time when working alone, so be prepared.
The stain looks rich orange red when newly applied, but within a day or two of drying turns more rust colored. It looks good and we have received compliments from the neighbors. Time will tell as to the effectiveness. A neighbor behind us used Flood a year or two ago and his has faded over time and looks more tan-orange, but they were satisfied with it as well.
Cleanup was easy. Most everything washes clean with water. Dried stain on brushes and buckets might need a brush to scrub off, but doesn't require a lot of elbow grease.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by dross Easy to apply. Finish looks great.
Was pleasantly surprised after putting the Flood cedar stain onto my deck. Prepped the deck using Behr deck cleaner. Scrubbed it thoroughly and allowed to dry. Put first coat of Flood deck stain onto the boards and it soaked in immediately. I applied a second coat before the first completely dried. This worked out very nice. Used on rails, steps and decking. Easy to put on and looks very nice.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by TbirdBob Great product, easy to use, covered well.
I used the product on a wooden swing set, bench and garden bench; all came out looking great. Very easy to use and cleanup was a snap...love that you could just use soap & water.

We've used this product for the past 3 years. It looks amazing (makes ordinary wood look rich and exotic) and so far seems to be protecting the wood on our deck very well.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 876jhg Good product, but too expensive
Good product overall, I recommend.
Used it on my deck and happy with the results so far (but it's been just 1 month).
1) easy to put on with brush or roller, rather liquid
2) got absorbed by the wood very quickly - the stain seems to get "into" the wood as opposed to forming a film as some Behr stains I used in the past.
3) Looks great
1) I had to use 2 coats for even coverage. "One coat" is just advertising - don't believe that
2) Cedar color looks too orange
3) Expensive, especially if you're doing a large project.
This is a good product overall, but Flood CWF-UV looks like a great product as well at half the price. I'll go with that next time.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by FrugalMark Translucent a tricky word
When I purchased this product I had plans to spray it on, but after getting it and it did not recommed it and that it actually does add color to the cedar versus what I thought to be close to a clear liquid had to roll it on instead. Does look nice but now I need more.
1. permitting light to pass through but diffusing it so that persons, objects, etc., on the opposite side are not clearly visible: Frosted window glass is translucent but not transparent.
2. easily understandable; lucid: a translucent explication.
3. clear; transparent: translucent seawater.

Ok after using the transparent Cedar stain by Flood I was excited about the Cedar Solid, Well Well, MISTAKE People! It isn't even close to the sample match on outside of can at all! If you your looking for a pumpkin color or cantaloupe color go for it, I left my son with 3 gallons and directed him to do back deck while we went out of town, Wow sad color and bad product by the marketing add dept. from FLOOD! I called and sent pics to 4 different people and finally received a supervisor that said she would refund money in 10 days well that was on July 16,2014 now its Sept 4th with never a refund! I sent several emails about the refund, nothing but blame on accounting dept. My advise don't use any kind of paint or stain without trying it on a paint stick and looking for yourself. The paint is still at Wal-Mart as of today!
