Answer:
Yes. The graying is most times wear and dirt. If properly cleaned you will find the wood will not be gray. We power washed our 7 yr old gray deck and it was back to the original wood color. The Flood CWF stain and waterproofing come in clear or with options for many different colors. We chose the cedar toner and love it!

We live in the Pacific Northwest and have used Flood Translucent Stain for years. Nothing is 100%, but this is good stuff. We do reapply about every 2 years and it still looks great. You could reapply every year if needed. Have never used Deks Olje, so can't speak to that...hope this helps!

Answer:
I can't say I've used deks olje, however even if you stop u.v. Rays completely, you can't stop the wood from oxidizing. You can slow down both but don't kill yourself trying.

Hello Robert!
Flood uses iron oxides in this oil-based one-coat product to create UV resistance ... preventing damage from the sun.
Once cured, the surface is also considered waterproof.

Answer:
If your sprayer will handle it, of course you can spray it. But I like to work the product into the wood with a brush.

Answer:
It does have a similar consistency as paint, so I would think a good sprayer would work. We chose to use a small roller with an extended handle, and a large paint brush for the floor of the deck, and a small paint brush for the spindles only to eliminate runs and waste. We did 2 coats of the stain for a more consistent cover.

I guess it could be sprayed on but it is a little thick, so I chose to roll it on with a roller and brush it on in certain areas. Great product!

Our last deck stain smelled terrible for months, like tar. It made our deck a very unpleasant place for a whole season. How does the Flood One-coat Waterproofing Finish measure up in that respect?
Thanks!

I couldn't smell anything ~3-4 days after the application, even though we used it over a pretty large area. Overall, it dries very quickly.
I did find it quite stinky during the application though (a synthetic smell similar to nail polish) .

All one coat products are going to smell for a period of time. Try adding a couple of teaspoons of vanilla extract per one gallon of material before you apply it.

1-gal. Cedar One Coat Protection Translucent Stain is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to apply. Finish looks great. Was pleasantly surprised after putting the Flood cedar stain onto my deck. Prepped the deck using Behr deck cleaner. Scrubbed it thoroughly and allowed to dry. Put first coat of Flood deck stain onto the boards and it soaked in immediately. I applied a second coat before the first completely dried. This worked out very nice. Used on rails, steps and decking. Easy to put on and looks very nice.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product, but too expensive Good product overall, I recommend. Used it on my deck and happy with the results so far (but it's been just 1 month). Pros: 1) easy to put on with brush or roller, rather liquid 2) got absorbed by the wood very quickly - the stain seems to get "into" the wood as opposed to forming a film as some Behr stains I used in the past. 3) Looks great Cons: 1) I had to use 2 coats for even coverage. "One coat" is just advertising - don't believe that 2) Cedar color looks too orange 3) Expensive, especially if you're doing a large project. This is a good product overall, but Flood CWF-UV looks like a great product as well at half the price. I'll go with that next time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product! The person who gave it one star doesn't know how to use it. To bobonthefob, my guess is that you applied this product directly over pressure treated wood without letting it fully season. You have to let any pressure treated wood get to or below 18% moisture content before applying anything to it. This flood product works very well and for the price it's a great choice. You can get better products, however they cost $10.00 more a gallon and up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent products! After tons of research of reviews and youtube (which I now find out can be set up by product manufacturers), we discussed the best product with several deck builders; they all said tried and true Flood products have been the best....especially for a well worn deck. We cleaned the deck with the power washer and started with the Flood CWF cedar toner stain. Our deck was 7 yrs old, very dry and littered with cracks. The stain brought moisture back to the wood and filled in the cracks nicely. The color was beautiful. We did do 2 coats of the stain. We finished with the Flood CWF cedar toner waterproofing. It was fabulous! It was like adding a shellac to the wood. It dries fast. It blends the colors over areas with different wear. It is easy to apply. Many color choices. Highly recommend! Final note....when doing research, I was surprised at how many class action lawsuits there were against other manufacturers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful and effective We've used this product for the past 3 years. It looks amazing (makes ordinary wood look rich and exotic) and so far seems to be protecting the wood on our deck very well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love Flood! Flood is the best product I have ever used. I have used others but this is by far the best. The color is a beautiful rich cedar shade, it goes on very smooth and covered my old deck great, in fact it made it look like new again. Clean up was a breeze also. I just love the look of my deck so much that I can't stop looking at it. I bought 10 gallons and have used almost all of them. I have a lot of decking around my pool, I also have a back and side deck and lots of railings. We also have a gazebo with railings going around it that is what I am going to use Flood on next. The neighbors have made comments on how good our deck looks. And I agree it looks fantastic! If anyone is thinking of weather proofing there deck my advice is get Flood, you won't be sorry.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad color Ok after using the transparent Cedar stain by Flood I was excited about the Cedar Solid, Well Well, MISTAKE People! It isn't even close to the sample match on outside of can at all! If you your looking for a pumpkin color or cantaloupe color go for it, I left my son with 3 gallons and directed him to do back deck while we went out of town, Wow sad color and bad product by the marketing add dept. from FLOOD! I called and sent pics to 4 different people and finally received a supervisor that said she would refund money in 10 days well that was on July 16,2014 now its Sept 4th with never a refund! I sent several emails about the refund, nothing but blame on accounting dept. My advise don't use any kind of paint or stain without trying it on a paint stick and looking for yourself. The paint is still at Wal-Mart as of today!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good product Very happy with this purchase. Product was well packaged for shipment. It has good coverage and color is consistent gallon to gallon (I bought 10 gallons). Applied easily with roller and brush and is showing good signs of water repellence.
