Answer:
You can rinse the deck with a pressure washer on low pressure after applying this. You shouldn't run it through the pressure washer, as it may damage internal components of the pressure washer.

Answer:
Janet,
On the Flood website, they mention that this product may damage metal componets of spray equipment, therefore I would not recommend using a pressure washer to apply this product.
If you would like to use a pressure washer to rinse off the product, you can do that. You can pressure wash it at 500 to 1000 psi with a 40 or 25 degree tip. Make sure to keep the nozzle 12"- 15" from the surface while Read More

Answer:
Hello Jeannie!
Oxalic acid is the oxidizing agent in this product.
It is classified as a "cleaner and brightener" by the manufacturer.
But almost all oxidizing agents will kill mold and mildew as well as remove the stains left behind.
When treating wood, oxalic acid is preferred over bleach because it will not damage wood fiber.
Bleach tends to makes wood fiber brittle.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.0 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Use a different brand I had the same issue another reviewer had, I had a big blue glob stuck to the bottom of the container. I shook the bottle very well before I started using the product. Of course I didn't see the glob until I was on my final application. What I did apply did not do anything. I don't recommend this product, but for anyone that does purchase this, empty the entire container into a bucket before applying to make sure there is no glob stuck to the bottom. If there is a glob, you will probably have to cut the container open to scoop it out and then mix it in. I'm disappointed because the Flood stripper worked great. August 7, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by You'll need to power wash the stuff from the bottle Bought this stuff as a pre-wash for our deck. Mixed a 4 gallon tub and followed the instructions. Didn't seem to do much - no bubbling up of gunk, running of green mold down the walls as expected. Still, I scrubbed like crazy and squirted with as much pressure as my hose would muster. When I looked in the bottom of the bottle, I discovered that all the active ingredients were in a solid lump at the bottom despite my having shaken the bottle for 2 full minutes. So I used the hose on full power to blast the stuff out and got it to dissolve. Put it on the deck expecting one small area at least to come clean but no luck at all. Waste of money and, because the bottle's empty, I can't take it back. Haven't bought the deck paint yet but I won't be buying this brand. June 20, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Had to do lots of scrubbing! I watched numerous videos where all that was needed was to spray, "agitate", and rinse--to my surprise this cleaner/brightener required lots of hand scrubbing to get reasonable results! (to be fair, my deck had been neglected and had lots of dirt/mildew) Even with all that scrubbing, it didn't clean or brighten as much as I expected. One thing I did notice was that despite how hard I shook it before using, there was still a good amount of solid stuff remained at the bottom of the container. August 8, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Much better (and more concentrated) than the alternatives Buy this, not the 'cheaper' option. This works much better - after stripping my deck, this cleaner left the wood looking like almost new wood. August 5, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Be careful with it It works great for cleaning and brightening old wood but be careful because it's strong. It will eat off some stains and you'll have to re-stain like I had to. I was planning on re-staining anyway so it wasn't a big deal for me. June 11, 2012
