Customer Questions & Answers

Is this for up to an 8 foot ceiling height? The specifications say it is about 1/4 inch over 8 feet.

Asked by: Simplypam
This shoe tree is over 8 ft tall. You can shorten it with the carousels.

Would kid's shoes (toddler sized...) fit well on these racks?

Asked by: Naester

Would this fit in a 6 foot space?

I would love to use this product in a space that is under 6 feet and was wondering if this telescopes between 6 to 8 feet. Thank you.
Asked by: AB

Reviews elsewhere say the screw together connections are not stable, over time it leans/topples. Can I fit dowels inside to stabilize?

If the rods are hollow and screw together- it seems like a dowel placed inside rods will stabilize the unit so the screw threads don't strip over time and unit falls. Shoe tree would be perfect if it can handle high school teens looking for costume shoes (ie handle a lot of twirling).

Customer Reviews

Floor to Ceiling Silver Shoe Tree with 6-Carousels and 1-Basket is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Shoe Solution for Small Corners I purchased this item to add more shoe storage in our newly remodeled master closet. My husband and I had considered SEVERAL different options for storing my shoes, but this was the smallest, most versatile, and most cost effective solution out there. I will say that I am happy with the product, but wanted to add a few things in a review to help others decide if this is the right product for you. First off, I think this rack works best for smaller shoes. I wear a women's 6.5 and even my hiking boots fit. However, my husband's size 13/14s wouldn't work well on this system. You can adjust the racks to a desired height, but I think the size plus the added weight would make the "turning" more cumbersome. Second, the rack doesn't really "spin" in the way you'd imagine. After you build the floor to ceiling rod, you slide on a few plastic "stops" that hold the racks at your desired position. The racks are simply "loose" on top of theses stops, which spin for the most part. I had to really consider where I wanted the shoes I wear the most often to avoid having to spin frequently. This is why I gave it a 4-star rating above. I feel like this part of the design makes the product a bit "less that advertised." I also remind myself what I paid for it, which makes it still an excellent value. Lastly, open-toed shoes may not sit as high on the product racks as closed-toed shoes. This wasn't a problem for me, since I simply placed all my closed toed shoes at the bottom of the rack (I wear them quite frequently). It's not a problem for me, but if you had larger feet and owned a lot of open-toed shoes/sandals, you might run out of space for all the racks. Overall, I'd buy this product again and many friends and family have commented they really like the way it looks and the number of shoes it stores so compactly. If you're hesitant, just buy it, assemble it in a mere 10 minutes, and see how your shoes fit. HD has always been good about returns, so it's worth a look!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A real space saver! I really like this product! My shoes are no longer scattered all over my closet floor. I can actually see what I have! Note: My closet ceiling is only 8 feet high. The last pole extension is for higher ceiling. I had to leave that pole off. It's still stable without it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I have very limited space for all my shoes and the fact that this only takes 12" in diameter is wonderful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I needed Took some time to assemble, but the directions are clear. Holds the weight of my shoes and spins great. I didn't think I'd need the basket option, but it works well for strappy sandals that I'm scared of stretching out. I recommend to anyone trying to save space by "going up."
