Customer Reviews

1/2 HP Zinc/Thermoplastic Tethered Sump Pump is rated 1.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from It does not work. I bought this to replace an old pump from Flotec. The previous pump is an old model of same horse power and design (i.e. tethered ball switch). The old pump had run reliably for more than 15 years. But this new pump is a totally disappointment. The motor worked but the switch did not. It had to be in extreme positions to work, which essentially rendered the pump useless. The motor turned on/off several inches (5" or more) higher/lower than the 14"/ 5" spec. heights. Flotec's web site says this pump replaces the old FP0S3200A. But I found it NOT a drop-in replacement. This pump is shorter with outlet in a different position and does not have a male NPT connector. I had to install a new pvc pipe for it. I wasted time installing this pump (and adjusting the floating switch) and finally had to return it. So be warned. I ended up getting a pump with a vertical switch from another manufacturer. The throw is shorter but it works great. I will never buy a sump pump with tethered switch ever again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No good The tethered switch would be completely submerged and pump would not activate unless it was nudged. I returned it to the store and they cheerfully gave me a store credit which I then used to purchase the same pump, except it was a 1/3 hp. I brought it home, installed it and it did the same thing. Yes, the switch was free to float but would not turn on motor unless it was jiggled. I will be returning this one also. Not sure what I will purchase now.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Problems with float The float does not activate the pump unless you giggle it. completely useless. hope the store will take it back. I'll try the vertical float pump.
