Customer Reviews

1/3 HP Submersible Cast Iron/ Stainless Steel Automatic Sump Pump with Vertical Switch is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 29.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Float improperly set After the tethered float on my previous flastic Flotec pump failed to switch off, allowing the pump to run dry for who knows how long (I heard the problem when I returned from work.) I decided to buy the better stainless steel model with the float switch. Unfortunately the float does not switch off until the water is below the intake grille. This makes for a very noisy installation. With it two days before Christmas I'll have to wait before I can attempt to fix this. The limited on/off range was disappointing as well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from the pump did not last.. Manufacturer has a 3yr warranty. Mine quit after 8 months and the store will only accept it within 90 days. This means while my basement floods, i must mail the pump in and MAYBE they will warrant it after a couple months. No help to fix my flooded crawl space NOW and was told I must buy another pump while they send it back to China. buyer beware..

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Got a replacement, and the replacement died after a month This product is a very poor product and the warranty is a 1 time replacement warranty. the three years they wrote on it is nothing, they should've wrote 1 replacement only. I bet that they give you a refurbished one just like what they did to me. I will never buy from Flotec again. Their customer service is very bad, i called them and they said they will send me another one, the line disconnected afterwards. i called again and the guy told me you can't get another replacement. They cannot have a same opinion in the customer service.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Quit after warranty expired I though that a stainless and cast iron pump would be better than a plastic model. Unfortunately, it quit after 30 months - 6 months later than the warranty. Will see if Home Depot will offer a store credit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad switches Bought pump 7-5-13 from Home Depot, on 4-2-14 pump would not shut off. Had a different model Flotec pump before this and it had a switch problem after about 2 years and would not come on, basement flooded. At least this time the basement didn't flood.. No more Flotec pumps for me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from GET A PUMP FROM HOME DEPOT BUT DON'T GET A FLOTEC I bought this pump a couple of weeks ago, and had problems, so called customer support at Flotec. After a half hour on hold a rep answered and said she would have to redirect my call. It didn't work and so I had to call back and was on hold for another hour. When I finally got a rep he sounded like a broken record "that's not a warantee issue" I kept trying to explain that I simply wanted to get some information and I was told that I should have read the instructions before buying (the ones packaged in the bottom of the box) and "that's not a warantee issue". Even a little common courtesy would have gone a long way at this point. The pump was at this point toatlly unusable for me without help so I returned it to Home Depot and was given a courteous and full refund on the spot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product I purchased this sump pump to replace a 20 year old pump after a recent weekend storm in Northern New Jersey. It was very easy to install, considering that my sump pit is 5 feet deep. I also liked that I was able to purchase the model with the float on a rod instead of just the tether. As soon as I plugged it in - WHOOSH!!! 18 inches of water that had accumulated in the pit was pumped out in seconds. I'm looking forward to many years of worry-free use with this pump.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from FPSC2250A Flotec 1/3 HP Sbmersible Auto Sump pump Installed in 2007 (cost then was $105) and still going strong. This city will NEVER improve its street, drains, etc unless an unprecedented disaster strikes that SOMEONE ELSE will pay for so until then and perhaps beyond, this pump is our line of defense.
