Customer Reviews

Rated 3.4 out of 5 by 29 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fllowtec 1/3 rd hp pump. I purchased the Fllowtec submersible pump to replace the exact same pump I purchased in 1998 at HD. The pump I replaced was located about 12 inches below my garage floor. That pump pushed water up 3 feet high in order to exit the garage. The old pump never gave me a problem but seemed to be a little weaker sounding after all those years. Easy to install. January 20, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Do not buy!!! Pump failed after 5 months, leaving my basement with 2 inches of water. Home Depot customer service was great though. I had my original receipt and they exchanged it for a new one, and even let me buy a different pump and only pay the difference. I did not want this pump again after only lasting 5 months. Pump was also noisy and could be heard in the main floor when running, which was nice at times when it was wet and rainy, because you knew it was working, but was a nuisance any other time. Main point here is that this pump is junk! December 23, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Flotec pump Very nice heavy duty pump. It appears to be well constructed. January 6, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Do Not Buy This Unit! Will quit after 3 months...Switch will fail or not turn off...fixing it will not guarantee even below average operation November 27, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Got a replacement, and the replacement died after a month This product is a very poor product and the warranty is a 1 time replacement warranty. the three years they wrote on it is nothing, they should've wrote 1 replacement only. I bet that they give you a refurbished one just like what they did to me. I will never buy from Flotec again. Their customer service is very bad, i called them and they said they will send me another one, the line disconnected afterwards. i called again and the guy told me you can't get another replacement. They cannot have a same opinion in the customer service. August 26, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by not recommended! Product installed easily and appears well built but cast iron looks are deceiving. The top part of pump is made of cheap plastic and the connections to the core of the pump are weak. Pump stopped working and I noticed oil and grease residue in the sump. Upon closer inspection I noticed that the top of the pump cracked during normal operation, water entered the pump and shorted the unit. It turns out that this pump is junk and was expensive to boot! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great pump The pump body is cast iron, not plastic like my last one. When my outlet line froze the constantly spinning plastic pump softened and split open on the side. We had another cold snap where the line froze with the new pump and the blocked outlet didn't faze the metal housing. And with the stainless steel motor case, this pump is made to last. Spend the extra money and get this pump. And yes, I do have a heater on the line. It just got too darn cold. February 11, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Float improperly set After the tethered float on my previous flastic Flotec pump failed to switch off, allowing the pump to run dry for who knows how long (I heard the problem when I returned from work.) I decided to buy the better stainless steel model with the float switch. Unfortunately the float does not switch off until the water is below the intake grille. This makes for a very noisy installation. With it two days before Christmas I'll have to wait before I can attempt to fix this. The limited on/off range was disappointing as well. December 23, 2011
