Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by TerryLL Once in a Lifetime Basement Flooding?
New England rains were brutal the week before Easter! Our basement had only about 4 inches of water so a sump pump wasn't doing me a lot of good since I couldn't draw the water down below 2.5 inches. I ordered this pump overnight from HD on a Wed afternoon. It arrived 1pm on Good Friday and our 1000 sq ft basement was pumped down to a few less than 1/4 in deep puddles in about a half hour. Hopefully, I'll never use it again but should the day come that I do, I know I'll have a pump that will do exactly what I want - get the water out and leave very little behind. Highly recommended!!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by JohnH Next time I'll buy a different brand
This was my second Flotec pump. The first one was 1/6th HP and lasted about 5 years submerged in my pond and rarely turned on to power a waterfall. When its bearing failed I replaced it with this 1/4 HP unit, thinking that the higher rating might make it more durable. But the quality of manufacture had deteriorated, and this one failed after only two years. All 4 screws holding the water-proof case together completely rusted through. The intrusion of water then caused the circuit board to fail.
This time I'll replace it with a different brand.

I love this pump! We have had 4 inches of rain in Chicago with 2 more to come. My detached garage has a French drain and when the yard floods, the water gathers in the garage. I had a small noisy pump that was really slow. This pump is 4 to 5 times faster and quiet. I am so happy to own this pump. For my needs, it is perfect.
Luckily, I only need a pump 4 to 6 times a year. This is my first time using the pump and I hope I don't need it too often.

Pump is being used in basement.
Purchased because it connects to garden hose.
Have a pump that empties to outside but the line froze.
Water collection hole holds about 25 gallons and pump
removes it in a couple minutes.
Only drawback is it needs an optional switch to work automatically and my Home Depot did not have the one
made specifically for this pump.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Tom123 Lasted a little over two years
I've been using this type of pump for many years around the yard and swimming pool. This one worked great until it didn't, failing abruptly after two years and three months of occasional but not gentle use. This is on the low side of my experience and I will look for a different model when I go to Home Depot tomorrow.

Great pump for the money. Would like to add a automatic switch as well, wish HD sold that.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by HappyPoolOwner So glad I bought this pump!
After renting a sump pump for the second time to empty my pool, I decided I needed to buy one of my own after several days of rain filled the deep end with 1 1/2 feet of water. This little pump is a work horse. It pumped much faster than I expected and took the water down to within 1/4 inch or so. I'm very pleased with this purchase, no more pump rental for me!
