Rated 3.1 out of 5 by 27 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Potent Pump I just replaced a failed sump pump with this one. I was looking for a pump that had the vertical float that this one uses. According to my insurance company (who ended up picking up the tab for the basement flood) the more common "pig tail" floats are more often than not the cause of flooded basements. Three-quarter hp is overkill for my 10-head, but the lifetime guarantee that comes with this pump, and none of the others, made the sale. I tested it a number of times after I installed it (with the BigDog backup pump) and it power is pretty impressive. Expensive, but with the superior float system and lifetime guarantee - 5-stars! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Solid Little Workhorse I bought this pump to replace the original sump pump we had installed when we built the house. I have to say it is a very solid pump with excellent weight and stability. I installed a check valve about two feet off the stem and the rubber boots on either end help keep the pump from getting tweaked out of position on the pit. I also followed the instructions and drilled an 1/8" hole just above the stem connection to prevent lock up. Just one word of caution this pump really moves the water so make sure you fix your pipes and hoses tight otherwise you might end up with a geyser. Overall, I am very happy with this pump. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Pump went out in 2 years I have replaced pumps from 5-7 years. This one went out in 2 years. Made a big bang. I ran out of the house thinking it was gun fire. Would never recommend this. April 10, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Great Pump -poor switch I agree with the other reviews that this pump works well... but the switch doesn't. Less than a year old and it just failed. The switch is no longer available (go-figure!) and the replacement switch is basically a generic that clamps on to the discharge pipe -it won't fit in my application so it looks like I'm replumbing in the morning. It's a good thing we have a back-up pump to get us through the night. I understand that things break -but it's frustrating. After spending over $200 initially and now not being able to get the correct replacement part... that's even more frustrating. April 12, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Flotec 3/4 Hp Sump Pump It looks really cool ... but can't stay cool I bought this pump thinking that $300 dollars would buy be a great product. The pump really does get the water out fast but falls short on staying working. This pump should not be recommended for use in your basement as a sump pump but maybe as a backup pump instead, this pump is very unreliable. The problem with this pump is that the float system is too short and the pump continually comes on, and since the sump is designed on ball bearings the pump heats up and overheats. It is a very powerful pump but cannot stay cool. This pump looks tough with all of it's crome, but should be kept on the mantel. Do not use this product as ur sump pump or u will be overwhelmed with migranes and stress. January 7, 2007
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Flotec Sump Pump This sump pump moves a lot of water very fast. My old sump pump which was 1/3 hp took 30-45 seconds to empty my sump pump basin. This one takes less than 5 seconds! It's amazing how fast the water is emptied out. However, all that power comes with a draw back. The pump is very loud. It can clearly be heard on the first and second floor even over the television. I also agree with other reviews that the float range needs to be about twice what it is. The pump was very easy to install. Remember to check the diameter of your piping before installing the pump. December 10, 2009
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Sump pump I went with Flotech as to be a easy replacement for an existing one of their pumps. Just wanted a bigger HP to keep up with potential rainstorms. Pump performs well and was a great fit. Even going from a 1/2 to a 3/4 HP required no more amperage draw which was a great benefit. The pump is a bit on the loud side, but I guess that goes with the territory of the bigger motor. Also felt it was a little "pricey" at over $ 200.00. But.....thats pennies compared to the impact of a flooded basement ! August 25, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by This pump moves a lot of water. I do find two things that are not ideal so far (just installed the pump on Monday and am writing this on Saturday). One, it is not a quiet pump. It is the loudest of the 7 or 8 pumps I have had during 23 years at this house. Second, the switch just does not have enough range of motion. Since I installed it Monday, it has been a pretty steady 2.5 minutes on and 2.5 minutes off. It moves a lot of water but a float range of about twice what it is now would be a big improvement.
