The Flotec 42 gallon standard well tank was easy to install and has performed great for the past several months. I also purchased and installed the Flotec air volume control valve (AVC), HD P/N FPE238-2-P2, on my new tank. The AVC is also performing very well. Additionally, I installed a 32" magnesium anode rod (purchased from Amazon) in the tank, to help ensure a longer life. I removed 1 ¼” NPT plug on the top of the tank and installed a 1 ¼” to 1” reducer to install the 1” NPT anode rod.
On a tech note, homeowners with clear iron in their well water that are using a chem-free iron filter benefit from standard well tanks compared to bladder tanks. These tanks help to oxidize and to precipitate the dissolved iron (and manganese) out of well water. For the budget homeowner, a whole house water filter also works very well to capture the precipitate, but requires more maintenance to clean and reuse filters compared to the automatic backwashing chem-free iron sand filters.
I'm very pleased that Home Depot sells this and other well products for homeowners. Standard well tanks (air over water) tanks and associated components (i.e. AVCs, bleeder orifices, and snifter valves) are getting harder to come by.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Robert No support - beware of 1 year warranty
I replaced an old galvanized tank that started leaking with this tank. It looks great and worked well for 1 year and 2 months. It started to leak at a seam that was not fully welded. I contacted the service department of Flotec and this is their response:
We are sorry to say that the FP7235-08 does have just a one year warranty, we give a 30 day grace period over and above that. You are beyond the grace period. Thank you.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by batman Lasted 14 months. do not buy
After 14 months had a leak at the vertical seam weld. Flowtec would not replace it. Drilled , tapped and put 1/4" pipe plug in. 3 weeks later leak lower down on weld seam. I replaced with galvanized tank ( my last galv. tank lasted 15 years ) this tank is junk.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by HavenAcres Haven't had it long enough to evaluate.
The tank is quite small, suitable for minimum usage, I purchased the tank as an air bleed for my new bladder tank, since my system was originally air over water, and pulling the pump to block the drain back port was not an option. So far so good, no problems to report.
