PlantHouse 5 ft. x 5 ft. Greenhouse is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 80.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for our needs We have wanted a greenhouse for quite a while but honestly weren't sure we would use it enough to be worth building a permanent structure. This portable version is exactly the right size and went together easily. Perfect as a segway to a wood and glass version, but sturdy enough to use for a long time.

It has withstood 50+ mile an hour winds by using the provided tie downs and intense winter rains with no leaks, over the past two months that I have had it. I added a small heater to use on nights when temps go below freezing, but rarely need to use it. The greenhouse went up in 5-10 min. with only one person, I was suprised how easy it was! I am over 6ft. tall and can stand in the center of the greenhouse comfortably with out having to bend over. Only thing I would change is the size, as I already have it filled with plants and wish I had more room. Get a bigger size then you think you need!!! Overall an excellent product and I would recommend to all my friends.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love It!! I bought this greenhouse a few months ago (I think in Feb.) and I love it. It works great and my seedlings did awesome in it. I grew some Tomatos in it and the plants are about 4' tall now and they have tomatos on them already while everyone elses plants in my neighborhood don't even have flowers. I wish I bought a larger one though, but I am considering buying a second one. In the instructions it says you can fill a 55 gallon drum or trash can with water to act as a heater at night... If you live in the cold or expect a cold night do not try that method. Get yourself a ceramic heater. All and all it's a great greenhouse and I cant wait till next winter/early spring to plant more seedlings again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Greenhouse I bought the greenhouse for my wife to replace a previous greenhouse (different make and model) that blew away in wind gusts up to 40 mph. This greenhouse is simple to assemble. It has gone through several storms with gusts up to 70 mph and is still in perfect condition...side note - my wife put paver stones on corner of greenhouse (one on corner inside the greenhouse and one on same corner outside the greenhouse just to be on the safe side).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely easy to put together I was a little skeptical when it said “pop-up” planthouse, I really doubted it would be that easy but it truly was. I took it out of the box and it literally popped up on its own. It has 5 poles that are in 3 pieces but are still connected with that elastic fiber and one big greenhouse. From opening the box to putting it in place took only 10 minutes. It also contains the ground stakes to secure it as well as a storage bag when not in use. If you can put up a tent when you camp you can put this up as well, simple, durable and good quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits my needs. Great product for the price. About what I expected for the price. Fits the need for a simple greenhouse to overwinter a few plants. Easy to set up by myself in a 15-20 mph wind. Some 25 degree nights have been handled nicely. Have to see when it gets down to 0-10 degrees and below at night later this winter. Bought a small ceramic heater expecting to have to supplement heat on coldest nights.

I have bought several greenhouses by Flowerhouse, both pop-up styles and the X-up styles, and they are the most convenient I have found on the market. They each have excellent qualities with a few hiccups that need improvement. However, on the whole, they beat the other manufacturers of portable greenhouses in general. As for this 5Wx5Lx6.5H Planthouse with gro-tec cover: Pros: (1) Upon arrival: excellent and durable gro-tec cover in great shape, no damage to screens, zippers, straps, tie-down loops and support rod pockets, super easy set up, clear instructions. Tie-downs, shade cover and stakes included. Two doors with 3/4 full heavy duty zippers and 3/4 unzippable mesh screens. No other vents. Super neat circular carrying/storage bag. (2) Love that the house has two-layer 6-inch deep skirts around the base, one layer folds out (has grommets at corners for additional stake-down, the other folds in. These allow one to weigh down and seal the base from critters and wind. (3) LOVE that there are two fully functioning doors, both for ventilation, visibility, and they allow you to set up the greenhouse as a pass-through. (4) Simple shock-cord rod framing system: The Planthouse support rod system is a little different - more simplified - than the larger pop-up greenhouses, but appears sufficient as we have already experienced a pretty strong windstorm. (By the way, tying down the greenhouse from the loops down and away into the ground with good stakes is ABSOLUTELY necessary ...do not think that bricks or stones around the base on the skirts will hold this very light structure down from even simple breezes.) There is a simple straight rod from fore to aft that fits into handy nylon pockets. This rod, unlike larger houses, floats up there, unattached to any side rods. Then you install the standard two rods per side arranged in an X. And finally, and differently from the other larger houses, two straight rods are installed, one each vertically on each side of the "front" door. The other door does not have these rods, so see Con below. The other structural attribute are two nylon straps, one on each end, that, when connected, serve to girdle the sides to relieve house-expansion pressure on the zippers and doors. The reason these are critical, is that the nature of these pop-up-type greenhouses puts the house always under the tension of wanting to expand, or pop-out. This makes the assembly easy and makes the structure stand with minimal hard-frame infrastructure. But the necessary downside is that the soft materials (cover, straps, doors, mesh, vents) are always being stretched. Over time, this puts a lot of pulling tension on the zippers and doors. So these straps help alleviate that (see associated Con below). (5) As for functionality: the gro-tec cover is awesome, durable, over two years running with mine and no problems with it. Zippers are robust and easy to handle, high-quality. The cover disperses light, yet allows great transmission. The house retains and concentrates heat well, and mitigates frost effects, but, of course to heat it during cold weather and to avoid freeze, one must deploy an interior space heater. And to control humidity, one must keep it dry (i.e., water your plants outside and then being them back in), or deploy humidity control. I place my greenhouses on a 5-inch deep bed of drain rock that is 12inches wider and longer than the L and W, but these structures can be placed virtually anywhere due to their light weight and their open bottoms. Cons: (1) Given the super-awesomeness and durability of the gro-tec cover, I have consistently been disappointed to find that both the nylon straps that relieve structural tension AND the mesh in the doors and vents (vents for larger houses) AND the shade cover are super cheap and disintegrate within three months of exposure to sun. It simply makes no sense that Flowerhouse would craft such a superior system for portable greenhouses, have such an excellent cover, and then shortchange their quality with these cheap materials. The mountain climbing and outdoor industries long ago delivered UVresistant connective and covering materials to their markets and Flowerhouse must do the same. I soaked my greenhouses' nylon pockets, straps, mesh screens, shade cover, and even my exterior tie downs with UV-protecting sprays, but that only extends their life by a month due to wash-off. This MUST be fixed! (2) All the pop-up Flower houses should have a second set of tension-relieve straps lower down on the structure. The current ones are at about 4.5ft height and this allows the lower half of the structure to still widen. As a result, the bottoms of the mesh doors are the first point of ripping due to UV-disintegration 100% of the time. An alternative that came to mind was that Flower house could eliminate those interior support straps and instead provide heavy duty interior loops, four at each side that holds a door, two above the door and two at the base. These would allow the customer to derive their own tension-relieving solution and eventually replace it if it fails. I would be fine simply using some UV-resistance rope and a turnbuckle for each pair to pull the sides together to relieve tension on the doors. And moving the horizontal strap to above the door eliminates the current obstruction to get inside. Even leaving the current straps as is but adding two sturdy loops at the base of each side holding a door would give the customer the flexibility to add a second tension-relieving system down low where the tension is greatest. (3) The lack of vertical rods on the "back door" side weakens structure from pressure from the top. Note that these greenhouses are NOT meant to support much weight from above (definitely not snow-worthy), but still...why go to the trouble to add support to one end and not add it to the other end? Not having the vertical support on the back door gives less resistance to a tie-down attached to the peak of that gable, causing it to squash as one tightens that tie-down...yuck. Overall: A few significant faults compromise the otherwise EXCELLENT structure of this greenhouse. I hope Flowerhouse eliminates these faults. Once they do, they will get 5 stars easy. For now 4, though I remain a customer because I hope that continued market demand will incentivize them to perfect their product.
