Product Overview

Only Fluidmaster has toilet flappers with built-in Microban protection. The Microban protection keeps the flapper cleaner by fighting flapper breakdown due to bacteria on the flapper itself. Toilet flappers made with Microban technology are more resistant to premature deterioration than other flappers. The Microban additive operates on the cellular level to prevent uncontrolled growth of microorganisms that can damage the flapper. The 502 Universal PerforMAX High Performance Toilet Flapper for 2 in. flush valves works best in toilets with 1.28 - 3.5 Gal. per flush or higher. The 502 is adjustable for optimum performance and water savings, is chlorine resistant, and has a solid frame for ultimate reliability. Flappers with a solid frame do not twist and provide the best seal. Replace or fix your toilet flapper with a Fluidmaster toilet flapper.

  • Built-in Microban fights flapper breakdown due to bacteria on the flapper itself
  • Best for 1.28 - 3.5 GPF+ toilets
  • Adjustable for maximum performance and water savings
  • Chlorine and hard water resistant
  • Solid frame for ultimate reliability

Answer:
Set to "9", the flapper will stay up for a long time. Smaller numbers will make it drop faster, limiting the amount of water that makes it out of the tank before the flapper stops it.

Answer:
Low to High(1 - 9). Setting 1,2,3,4,5 = MORE Water flushed(Flap stays up longer ALL BY it's self). 6,7,8,9, = LESS Water flushed. I chose "5". For your "sit downs", and the Toilet Paper extreme users. The higher #'s will conserve water, BUT,(no pun intended) don't forget those "2 flush people". Give and take situation. I think they call it "a Courtesy Flush".

Answer:
It turns like a dial, but in my experience no matter where I turned it, I got the same inadequate flush. On a plumber's recommendation I bought the Korky brand flapper with the yellow adjustable float and that's worked perfectly.

Answer:
The dial adjusts how quickly the flapper will drop down to stop the flush. This in turn, it is translated into the volume of water used for flushing the toilet. Therefore, you don't need to adjust the float to change the amount of water stored in the tank to regulate the water used per flush. It is easier to just rotate the flapper's dial.

Answer:
The 502 Adjust A Flush Flapper works by moving a small air hole to control the descent of the flapper. By turning the flapper to a higher number you are forcing the flapper to stay open longer. The flapper is designed for 1.6 Gallon Per Flush Toilets and is best used for toilets manufactured after 1992.

Answer:
The flapper doesn't have a good seal around the hole, or you have a chip in the edge or foreign object not letting it seal correctly. Check for those first. If that all looks fine then you might need a Flush Valve repair kit. Home Depot has them and made by Fluidmaster for about $7.22. Simple to install too. the other option is to replace the Flush valve for about $12.24.

Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 152 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Doesn't last Installed this about 6 months ago to replace the original, leaking flapper. Was fine until a few days ago, when I heard leaking again. The outer lip of the valve is now curved and warped. Photo attached. August 21, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Fatal flaw I installed this flapper a year ago, and today was the third time that the toilet ran overnight, resulting in an empty well. This time, I determined what the issue was. The problem lies in the design of the hinge. The vertical features ("walls") that create the pivot point can engage the flanged ends of the hinge pins of my overflow tube, causing it to "lock" into a fixed position. This happens very rarely, and when it does, it holds the flapper just low enough to convince you that it's closed. I spent 60 seconds modifying the inside edges of those walls (beveled them in towards the pivot) with a Dremel, and now the valve works as intended. I'd stay away from this product. October 23, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by The product is good but finally I will return it. The actual problem of my toilet is I need to the one with a ring at the bottom as the water outlet is rough. October 25, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy fix Seems to be well made. Bottom line, it works. How long it lasts remains to be seen. October 18, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not a good product didn't solve the problem and chain Really hard to work with October 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by it worked. What more can I say, " It worked". It's a toilet flapper, put it on and no more leaking water into the toilet bowl. Exactly what it's supposed to do. October 4, 2016
