Installed this about 6 months ago to replace the original, leaking flapper. Was fine until a few days ago, when I heard leaking again. The outer lip of the valve is now curved and warped. Photo attached.

My previous flapper had a plastic chain to attach to the plunger handle. Being plastic, it was also somewhat stiff. It finally broke. This flapper has a metal chain, which should last much longer and is much more flexible than the plastic. The chain is long, so it should be easy to adjust for each tank. It was easy and quick to remove the attaching clasp from the chain, cut it to size with a chain snip, reattach the clasp, and attach it to the plunger handle. There are no leaks with the flapper. It's working as it should.

The product ordered was the proper replacement for the defective one at a reasonable price.

This does not fit my toilet. Too small and is not adjustable.

My previous flapper was less than a year old and it became non-functional. The only reason I bought the same thing was because I knew it fit.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by krh So far, the Fluidmaster 502 Flapper fixed the toilet leak...and even seems to have fixed one more issue
Some info here might help not only for a toilet drain leak, but for a noisy toilet too.
I did a Fill Valve replacement first (old Fluidmaster for a new Fluidmaster). Didn't fix the toilet leak, and even worse, made the toilet very very noisy after about every other flush. But at least the Fill Valve didn't leak, so I went on to the Flapper.
Replaced the old Fluidmaster Flapper with a new Fluidmaster 502 (left it on max)...and after about 3 hours no toilet tank level change, so likely this nailed the leak issue...but time will tell.
However, now the bonus fix. The new 502 Flapper appears to have fixed the toilet noise. I've done a few flushes, no noise.
So, just an idea. If you have a leaky & noise toilet, start with the Flapper. You might get a 2 for 1 fix.

The Fluidmaster worked great. Initially tried a Korky but it didn't seal everytime so I brought it back and got the Fluidmaster and it did the trick.
