Reviews say that the cabinert has no back? Why is that?

Asked by: jcalz
I think because it is likely to go against the wall, and the pipiing often enters from the back wall.

What is the dimension of the sink basin excluding the "little shelf"? (The bowl portion)

I am wondering if my dogs will fit in the sink bowl or will it be too tight a fit.
Asked by: SEC1
Be Careful! The sink is 30.5" wide (despite the advertised dimensions). It will get jammed between your walls if they are not at least 30.5" apart.

Customer Reviews

Bramlea 30 in. Laundry Vanity in White and Premium Acrylic Sink in White and Faucet Kit is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 38.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very pleased with Foremost Bramlea sink and vanity The cabinet is well constructed. 0nly assembly required were installation of the legs. Wish the cabinet had a panel in the rear with cut-out for plumbing. Knobs make the cabinet look low-end. I replaced them. The acrylic sink and high arch faucet are really nice! The spray head and hose, though functional and easy to assemble, appear cheap and a mismatch with the overall nice look of the unit. These are minor problems. Overall I'm very pleased with the product!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DEATH BY A THOUSAND CUTS! The following story is true. Hopefully, you will read it BEFORE you buy. If you already bought, then please read anyway, for the comfort of knowing that you are not alone in your misery. We bought this very expensive ($530 with tax) item to replace a laundry cabinet & sink. We had 30.25 inches of width between our walls. At the time we bought this new cabinet (September, 2015), the Home Depot website referred to it as a "30 in. Laundry Vanity" and the "Product Overview" specified that it had a "Product Width" of 29.84 in. Thus, we should have no problem with the width, right? WRONG! When we received it, and tried to fit it into place, it became jammed between the two walls which were 30.25" apart. It was then that we realized that the sink was actually 30.5 inches wide. Due to time constraints, we decided against returning it to Home Depot. We cut open our walls at the sink-level, and managed to get it into place. But, before we could do so, three of the foot-pegs promptly broke from the cheap MDF floor of the cabinet - causing us to discard all of the foot-pegs and support it from the walls. The easily damaged MDF 'wood product' cracked and/or broke away in various other places as well, so that we would have the joy of repairing, replacing, or covering the damaged pieces (and then priming & painting). Once we got the cabinet installed, the sink was loose to it - which was not surprising because nothing was provided to secure it to anything, and the instructions don't even mention it. So, further modifications had to be made to secure the sink to the cabinet, which would take too many words to get into further. Then came the doors -- the doors look great, but one of the hinges was slightly out of place and could be realigned only by removing the door and re-drilling holes for this hinge, reinstalling it, and reinstalling and realigning the doors. This all may sound easy enough, but drilling new holes very close to existing holes can cause things to go from bad to worse. Eventually, we found a way to get the doors aligned, such that their outside edges did not rub against our walls when opened. As for plumbing, the best thing to do is to not even open the package containing the sink-drain parts. Just discard it into your recycling can, and go back to Home Depot and get something much better. We followed the pithy instructions, and applied the plumber's putty, and got it installed to the sink. But when we tried to tighten the drain to the plastic piece that it threads into, the threads simply slipped making it impossible to tighten. So, we got rid of them, and used hardware leftover from our new kitchen sink. The handheld sprayer and hose are also very cheap, so we used something else. BOTTOM-LINE: You may, or may not, have as many problems as we did. However, this item is severely over-priced, and you will likely end up spending even more to fix or upgrade its cheap parts. And let's not even get into how time-consuming all of this can be.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Expected Better for the Price The cabinet and the sink seem to be of good quality. We are particularly happy with the sink. Overall, the assembly was pretty easy. However, there are some things that I expected to be better: 1. The sprayer is cheaply made and the hose is not flexible, so it kinks and binds. I will probably end up replacing the hose. 2. There is no way to attach the sink unit to the cabinet, so it shifts around. I used construction adhesive to secure the sink to the cabinet. 3. There are no instructions or hardware for securing the cabinet to the wall.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good basic laundry sink The sink and cabinet are very nice, I would have preferred the hardware not be included. It is extremely cheap stuff. The large ring plastic ring nut for the drain broke in my hands when trying to tighen it. A trip to the hardware store for a metal one solved that issue. Everyting else worked and the installation was straight forward and rather easy. Beware of the height of the spout. We selected a med. cabinet with a shelf under. The mirrors are a little high for my wife.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks as good as the picture Cabinet unit was delivered fully assembled. The plumbing parts were in boxes that were clearly marked as to the contents. Good quality materials. One oddity - the cabinet has no back. While this makes installing the plumbing easier (no hole drilling required), the appearance when the doors are open is rather odd. I purchased the bamboo sink cover. It fits perfectly, looks great and provides additional work space.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well Built and Easy to Install We moved our laundry room to the second floor for convienience. We converted a large closet. This sink fit pertect. It arrived in great shape and it assembled well. It included everything we needed except the tub adhesive used to glue down the sink.
