Hello. Does anyone have the details on the p-trap cutout on the back of the pedestal? I am replacing a vanity sink and don't mind adjusting the existing drain away from the wall, but do not want to adjust it UP the wall so the p-trap can clear and fit in the pedestal.

The back of the pedestal leg is closed on the back side, from the bottom to 6" up. From there, it is open all the way to the top.

Please note that in my first answer to this question, the captions for the images are reversed. the captions should be switched with the Correct installation showing the photo with the neat , chrome water lines up high under the basin. The incorrect installation has long exposed, unsightly, PEX water lines.

We hired a more experienced contractor to re-do it and the fina outcome was great. Read Less

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 30 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Absolutely beautiful sink This is a beautiful, high quality porcelain sink. We used American Olean tile in biscuit, it's a wonderful match for color. The fit and finish was very good, nearly perfect, though I found when the bolts that attach it to the wall are tightened snugly, the sink appears to be ever so slightly tipping to the front, but that could be due to my floor, my wall, or my tile installation. Installation was very tricky. There is very little room to spare. Make sure your drain line is exactly where you want it, the plastic nut is flush to the wall, and use nice chrome 1 1/4" trap. Tighten the tail piece to the sink before you place the sink on the pedestal, then secure the sink in place, and then install the trap. Don't hurry this job, it's bound to cause frustration if you're not very careful each step, to make sure you don't need to make adjustments on the fly, unless you want to uninstall the sink a half dozen times and start over. I'll attach some pics so you can see how mine went together. February 14, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Looks just as nice as pictured. Appearance is perfect for our powder room. This is a fairly large pedestal sink, with plenty of room on both sides of the faucet handles for a soap dispenser. The sink piece fits 'into' the pedestal, making it sturdier than previous models we've had in other homes. That feature makes installation a bit tricky, I think. My favorite pedestal model ever. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice, but won't work. I'm giving this an average overall and a poor ease of installation because nowhere on the product description does it say this is a wall mounted sink. And when it is replacing a true pedestal sink, it won't work without practically demolishing the whole bathroom and starting over. So, this is going back and I hope I can find a free standing one soon being as the old one was removed! October 11, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Sink Very happy with this sink...install went as expected with the only issue being the toggle bolts. Mine were just too short to get thru the sink and wall to expand. Had to run back to the Depot and pick up a pair an inch longer. October 12, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Too tight for plumbing connections Connect the faucet is pretty hard cause not enough space but other than that beautiful pedestal September 27, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice looking sink Some pedestal sinks are wall mounted, and the pedestal is just decorative, to hide the drain trap. This one is supported by the pedestal. Since servicing the trap is difficult, if not impossible with the pedestal in place, you need to provide temporary support for the sink (ie 2x4s) to shift the pedestal to access the trap. This is further complicated by a lip at the back of the pedestal that prevents you from completely removing the pedestal. Then getting the sink to sit properly on the pedestal was a hassle. I had to use shims, then hide everything with caulking. But the price is exceptionally low, and I think the cost savings were worth the hassle of installation. December 11, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love this sink: I bought TWO! Be sure to tell HD to add extra packing and padding to cushion the basin portion of the sink during shipping. The first basin was delivered in pieces, and the second broken straight though from one corner to the other. It wasn't the delivery company's fault: it's a VERY heavy basin, and it only had one thin piece of padding and cardboard on the corners. Third time had to be the charm - I was expecting guests - so I told HD that the basin's protective packaging and padding was insufficient, and they got the shipper to add more of both. Consequently, the third one arrive intact and beautiful. When I ordered it again for my second bathroom, I made the same request, HD took care of it, and that one also came in perfect condition and gorgeous. Once all that drama was over and it was installed, I'm in love with it, from its classic look, to its height and the size of the basin. It's just a beautiful sink, and now I have one in each of my bathrooms. February 10, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Manufacturing defects Had to return this twice to the store. Of course homedepot gave a full refund, but I had to pay the plumber twiice for installation. The first time the product arrived broken. The second time, after installation there was leak at the drain. We found out the finish of the drain end of the sink was not level. Installation is also tough. April 23, 2015
