I would also like to use this as 2 different scaffolds. Can you do this? What would I need to purchase? Just the casters or do I also need extra pins? Would the adjustable base plates work with it? (I did read that they are not compatible with this model, but I am wondering if it's only because it's 12 foot and would be a safety hazard that high up) I would NEVER use the adjustable plates (levelers) on the 12 foot height., only on the 6 foot.

Answer:
The 12' drywall scaffold will make two separate 6' tall scaffold units. There are extra scaffold casters and pins that come with the included outrigger set that can be used on the two extra scaffold ladder sides. Outriggers are not required when assembling the scaffold to just the 6' height. The second set of side rails and the included extra plank will enable you to create a second 6' tall scaffold set. Only one of the two 6' scaffolds will have a guardrail set unless you purchase a second guardrail set, currently sold on Homedepot.com for $177.
The base plates and leg levelers #Screw jacks# are designed for the exterior scaffold sets which use a larger round tubing frame versus the smaller square tube on Drywall Scaffold. So, these will not work with the Drywall Scaffold.

Answer:
In order to make two 6ft scaffolds from this 12ft scaffold, you would need to purchase a 4pack of 5 inch casters or 4pk baseplates. The part number is HD0405DC for the caster and no extra pins are needed. The adjustable baseplates are not compatible with this drywall scaffold. This unit is designed not to use adjustable baseplates rather it can be adjusted with the ladder frame in 2in increments.

Answer:
The highest platform height on the 12' drywall scaffold is 12'. It is measured from the floor up when assembled. You can adjust the planks from as low as 1' to as high as 12', using 2" increments. All measurements are approximate.

We have a 12 foot ladder and it's not tall enough for us to reach our T8 light fixtures to change the bulbs. What else do I need to buy in order to get the additional footage I need to get to 15 or 16 feet height?

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 23 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works great for my application. Bought this for use on my split entry home because a ladder was just not practical or safe in some areas. It works great on the stairway being able to stagger the ends to give you a nice platform to work from. You can also use them as two 6 ft. scaffolds, this worked great for painting my vaulted ceilings having more work surface to paint from. My only problem was that I had a couple holes that locked the scaffold in place were off just enough that I had use a drill to open them up a bit to get the lock pin to work. Other than that, I found the scaffold easy to assemble and tear down. March 1, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works as designed Easy to assemble and stable. The working platform could be a little bit bigger May 12, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by If you're looking at this then you KNOW you need it.... I purchased this in 2014 because I had to paint my 2 story foyer and was on the fence about how I was going to safely accomplish this. I can't believe that I was even thinking about doing it from a ladder. I know that the price might make think twice but ponder on this. What is the cost of 1 emergency room visit if you fell from that kind of height? Now as for the scaffold, its made pretty sturdy but I had a few issues with some of the fitment. The holes that came from the factory weren't large enough to accept the receiver pin. Instead of sending the unit back I just ended up drilling them a tad bit larger and they work fine now. It wobbles a little when you are using the top platform from 12ft but that's to be expected and you get used to it. Like other reviewers have stated it definitely takes 2 people to set this up if you plan on using the 2nd deck. September 7, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by worked perfect easy to put together and worked as expected completely satisfied May 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect for Our Needs We had been using a 3 legged Orchard Ladder to adjust and replace things on our suspended Light Grid in our main worship space at the church and it was unsafe and difficult. The Scaffold Unit stores in a closet - is easy to assemble with just two people and our life is hugely better. Thank you!! April 28, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good Value, not such good quality Received the scaffolding, assembly instructions are minimal, but can be figured out. The main problem is the welding is very sloppy. Each dowel pin at the top that is used to connect one level to another is welded to the vertical piece very poorly. The weld is sloppy and too big and makes it so that the safety latches don't line up with the holes. I had to grind down almost every weld so I could even get the safety latches to close. Have a grinder ready. May 19, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome scaffolding! My husband and I are very pleased with our purchase. We do carpentry and painting for a living and just don't know how we did without this scaffolding for so long. I am afraid of heights and I feel secure on this scaffolding! It was easy to assemble and take apart too! December 8, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Work great Works great but too heavy for one person. You're better off spending a little extra money and buying the aluminum one December 8, 2015
