Customer Questions & Answers

Can you also make 2 scaffolds from this?

I would also like to use this as 2 different scaffolds. Can you do this? What would I need to purchase? Just the casters or do I also need extra pins? Would the adjustable base plates work with it? (I did read that they are not compatible with this model, but I am wondering if it's only because it's 12 foot and would be a safety hazard that high up) I would NEVER use the adjustable plates (levelers) on the 12 foot height., only on the 6 foot.
Asked by: CountryGardens
Yes. Use the wheels from the outriggers to make 2 scaffolds but without rails for second scaffold.

If the platform where you stand is at 12 ft is there a rail? Or does the platform only go to 8ft?

I need an 11 ft platform. If this is extended to 11 ft do I only have one ft of rail?
Asked by: Laura
This two section scaffold will reach roughly 11 feet to the platform and top of the crossbrace. The top rails are inserted into the crossbrace so the rails are always going to be same height above the platform regardless of where you position the platform. It should work for you

I would like to purchase your scaffolding item but how does my military discount given online?

Asked by: pbta
Unfortunately your military discount does not apply to online orders. That was the response I got when I asked the HD folks.

How do you adjust the scaffolding to work on a stair application?

Asked by: JimL
You need to position each end (frame ladder with wheels on stair tread and another frame ladder with wheels on floor or lower stair tread) and then install the truss (cross piece) into the hole that it lines up with at each end so that truss is level. The wheels would need to be locked at each end. Obviously one end will be higher than the other end. I doubt you can stack them in this position because you have to use the outriggers when you stack to 12 feet and likely not enough room for them on a stairs.

Purchased this to finish the interior of a barn which has 16 foot walls and is 100 X 40. A big project for a DIY. The scaffolding has been a life saver through the first stages of the project. More than paid for itself in first month and I'll continue needing it for another year on this one project alone. Quality and functionality are excellent. The only thing to be aware of is that it is not possible to change the level of the platforms with one person and even with two people it is some work. Not the fault of the scaffolding and I am sure it is the same with all scaffolding - just something to be aware of if you need to change platform height often.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from If you're looking at this then you KNOW you need it.... I purchased this in 2014 because I had to paint my 2 story foyer and was on the fence about how I was going to safely accomplish this. I can't believe that I was even thinking about doing it from a ladder. I know that the price might make think twice but ponder on this. What is the cost of 1 emergency room visit if you fell from that kind of height? Now as for the scaffold, its made pretty sturdy but I had a few issues with some of the fitment. The holes that came from the factory weren't large enough to accept the receiver pin. Instead of sending the unit back I just ended up drilling them a tad bit larger and they work fine now. It wobbles a little when you are using the top platform from 12ft but that's to be expected and you get used to it. Like other reviewers have stated it definitely takes 2 people to set this up if you plan on using the 2nd deck.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Value, not such good quality Received the scaffolding, assembly instructions are minimal, but can be figured out. The main problem is the welding is very sloppy. Each dowel pin at the top that is used to connect one level to another is welded to the vertical piece very poorly. The weld is sloppy and too big and makes it so that the safety latches don't line up with the holes. I had to grind down almost every weld so I could even get the safety latches to close. Have a grinder ready.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from poor customer service Still ttying to assemble mine. Due to problem with outrigger bolt I was not able to complete assembly. I have been waiting 3 weeks and still have not received the replacement. Looks like a good product, but takes way to long to have something fixed if not received properly. Need better Quality at the plant.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great for my application. Bought this for use on my split entry home because a ladder was just not practical or safe in some areas. It works great on the stairway being able to stagger the ends to give you a nice platform to work from. You can also use them as two 6 ft. scaffolds, this worked great for painting my vaulted ceilings having more work surface to paint from. My only problem was that I had a couple holes that locked the scaffold in place were off just enough that I had use a drill to open them up a bit to get the lock pin to work. Other than that, I found the scaffold easy to assemble and tear down.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from OSHA rated but lacked enough support. Before our Customer would allow us to use this on their property we needed to add additional side support pieces. OSHA rated but lacked enough support. Not allowed to use end ladders to access platform like regular scaffolding.
