Customer Reviews

Black Indoor Wireless B/G/N IP Camera 640 x 480p H.264 Pan/Tilt is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 104.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Peace of mind! Having these cameras in my living room give me the greatest peace of mind. I can check in on my dogs through out the day to make sure all is well. OR I can check on them and see when they have destroyed things! The color (as you can see in the attached picture) does vary by the amount of light in the room. I have the blinds closed and the tv on. That is the only light in the room. Very easy to set up. I am able to access the picture from work on a PC, from another room in the house or even on my smart phone. I can use a Windows, Android or Iphone to view the image. I also like the ability to change the view remotely.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great afforable network IP camera The price for the camera is a pretty good. Set up is pretty straight forward with a little technical know how. They also have how-to videos on their website. You can find Foscam vids on YouTube. The model I bought (FI8910) came with DDNS (free) so you can watch your camera over the internet in less than 30 minutes. I've tried the camera apps on an iPod and android tablet. They are OK but I prefer a full web browser. With IE you get more features enabled even though I like Firefox. Pan/Tilt, Night vision, record and 2-way audio. Only thing missing is a Zoom feature - but for the price I'm very happy. I bought two : )

Rated 3 out of 5 by from not easy to set up. camera shutter too slow to catch movement. The set up was not very easy. The instruction in the enclosed manual and on-line video is not very accurate. I found the instruction in the enclosed CD is much easier to follow. Once I get the camera up and running it works fine both in day time and night vision mode. Pros: records short video when motion is detected. Sends out 6 shots of photos when motion is detected. Able to control pan & tilt remotely. two way audio. Cons: There are a few issues which I would like to point out for other potential buyers: 1. When lighting condition in the room changes, the camera will sent out an e-mail notification which doesn't bother me, but might be annoying for some. 2. the camera shutter is too slow to capture movement. So the image is blurred if a person walks by quickly. 3. The iPhone App doesn't work outside of my home network. I found a 3rd party app (free) which works much better.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Don’t count on technical support! First of all you can sometimes wait an hour for them to pick up the phone. It’s off shore “support” so it’s very, very difficult to understand each other much less solve your problem. If you are pretty technical, you should be able to do it yourself with the help of YouTube videos. Equipment wise, seems to be OK. Software, not the greatest. It isn’t very user friendly. The camera may take a while to show in their “IP Camera Tool” window and then quickly disappear. One of the two Foscam cameras that we bought keeps going off line. Good luck!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent camera for phone, internet and home network! I love this camera! I was able to set it up to view on my home network, over the internet from anywhere in the world and on my phone! I have an Android phone but I have also viewed it on my iPad and an iPhone. I thought the setup was very easy. It works quite well. I can even Pan and Tilt using my phone!! With the built in webserver you don't need to install anything to view it from the internet. This is EXACTLY what I was looking for. The only CON is no zoom least I have not found one yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great camera Using a couple of these as "baby monitors", and they have been working extremely well. From the time of unboxing, until I had it fully up and running - was about 15 minutes. Had to plug the camera directly into the router, then configure the wi-fi settings on the camera itself, set its MAC addy to a dedicated IP (to be used with a DNS service), then setup port forwarding. My wife is able to check on the kids while at work, from any web browser, and we even can monitor them on our iPhones. There's about a 1-2 second delay while on the same network, and bout a 2 second delay while accessing the cameras via HTTP. Picture is great, colors are great, the night vision works well enough, two-way audio, tilt and pan, and all for a pretty good price. This has surpassed all expectations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job. I have bought three of these cameras to keep an eye on different areas of the house. It took a little effort to set up the wireless connection and the access the cameras from anywhere over the internet. You need to follow the instructions step by step. There is also an 800 number available with someone to help you in case you get stuck. Good value and features for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Features for the Price! I bought this after an emailed sale price was $30 off. Shipping was relatively quick. I run a department of network engineers for a living, so my experience with the camera may differ from yours. Once I got the camera on my WiFi, I was impressed at the web gui for viewing. The camera pans and tilts silently, but no zoom. (For the price I wouldn't expect that feature). Getting the camera web facing was easy for me because I have a static public IP address and just pointed port 8080 to the camera in my firewall. (You have the option to set what port the camera listens on in admin settings). If I had to use their suggested dynamic DNS settings - I believe this would blow most people's minds. (Have a geek kid come over to set that part up). Now that I can view from any web browser, and even my Android phone; it's been fun spying on my cats when I am not at home. The only difficulty I had was setting the alarm sensitivity and actually having it email me when it detected motion. I finally ironed that out. The IR works great in pitch darkness. If you are a little tech savvy, I would definitely recommend this camera. If you aren't - save yourself a few outbursts and pay a geek kid to help!
