I am by no means an expert but I'm pretty good with networking with a degree in MIS. I'm looking into IP cameras myself and thus have some knowledge from research. Short answer I believe not. You would need a camera with PoE (Power over Ethernet) capabilities AND to be able to run the cat5 Ethernet cable from your router/modem to the location of the camera. If it is a good enough distance (not sure how big of a property) you would need a repeater to boost the signal somewhere down the line of the cable. I believe you will also need a PoE injector/splitter for camera side cable end. So it is possible, just not with this camera if I am correct. Lots of good info from searching on google. Good luck. I'm no expert but I am fairly good with networking. I don't believe it is possible with THIS camera. If you could run a stretch of outdoor purpose Ethernet (cat5) cord from your router/modem to the barn it is possible with a camera that has PoE (Power over Ethernet) capabilities. I believe you would need a PoE injector/splitter also for this. Lots of info on google.

Answer:
Hello Ron,
Foscam Cameras have a DDNS. After you have port-forwarded your camera, go into your camera network settings then DDNS then check the box and save it
From there it should be straight forward.

Hi Cece,
This is not recommended because humidity can cause it to fail over time. Consider the Foscam FI9828P.

Wireless 720p Indoor Plug and Play IP Video Surveillance Camera - Black is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 31.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from The technology works very well.....if you know technology... The question: would you recommend this product? Yes & No. Really! It requires that you know how to change settings in your router so that you can port forward the camera's IP to allow users to pull it up on the net....other than THAT....it works fantastic! I have it in my mother's room (94 w Alzheimer’s). I have it set up on her chair, her bed, her bathroom and the doors to the room. Fantastic vid day and night. I can also hear her and could talk to her, if she could hear. I can also watch the aides and nurses. I can make sure she is safe on my phone, my computer etc. My sister in another state can pull her up. It really does work great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Got them on Sale $48! Great bargain! Took an entire week to figure out how to get them up and running but now I can monitor or operate from home or anywhere I have internet access. Had to go to lots of internet forums and google searches to get certain things to work. Example: When you want the schedule to be able to record, you turn that time or day RED, the opposite of what your would think. Same with the grid for motion detection. Red is the active area. Hope that helps? I have a 32 gig card in each of my cameras that are set to record 30 seconds of motion activated events. I notice that I can get about 20 hours onto the card. Plenty for me but others might need to go with a bigger card for constant monitoring? I like that I can review and erase the cards from my PC and not have to take the cards out to access the files. Very nice cameras and excellent night vision without the IR lights being on. I have them mounted inside of windows and the IR just glares off the windows when trying to use them. Can still see in almost pitch black what is going on. Very nice cameras for the cash but the non-tech savy beware! Could not get the software to work with Chrome so had to use Opera to access and see the video!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great piece of equipment I purchased this security cam to place in my Observatory to keep an eye on things and have found that it works extremely well. I had some fun setting up for the first time and found that Foscam customer service/Tech support to be second to none.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Camera for $60 The camera was super easy to install as I already had two older models setup previously. The quality of the camera is great, especially when viewed full screen on monitor vs. mobile device. I would highly suggest that if you are using this in a high motion area and you are monitoring externally, (mobile device, work, anything other than your house) then get something with less than 720p. This may work better for you than it did for me but I had major latency in the video when viewed externally. It could be that I was using a slow DNS or a higher setting than what's meant for mobile device. I check my frontyard with my phone with this camera mounted facing outside. However, when I'm at home, and I directly access the camera via the internal IP the reaction and quality is outstanding. If you are looking for something that you can access while you are at home or your small business office, this is a truly great deal. I got this for $60 and it was worth every penny.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Live and learn The camera was a nightmare to install and I have not really been able to ever get it to work successfully. The instructions were not helpful. I finally gave up on it and it is not a paper weight on my wife's desk because I can't stand to look at it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from PLUG 'N PLAY? Ahhh...NO! 'They' make it sound simple to set-up - IT S NOT! after 3 days and countless hours trying to do it on my own I decided to call TECH SUPPORT which took control of my computer and did everything for me --------------- when he was setting it up you should see all the steps he went through to get it to work! this is in no way - a simple PLUG 'N PLAY step up you need to be tech savvy! -------------- MY ADVICE call tech support right from start it's a 30+ minute wait but it's worth it once set-up - THE CAMERAS ARE GREAT! ---------------- all in all - I am not sure if I will keep them I will try them out for the next month and see what happens I have yet to view them from outside my home which will be the real test..

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality picture anytime Nothing is perfect, so I have to rate this less than perfect. Pull out of box and plug in. Download app, scan camera and you are ready to record. Easy to use, great picture. Works well on watching my dog while I am away from the house. Tons of additional features online. Love it. Will purchase more. Watching an online video on how to set it up through my wireless router by a non professional helped a lot.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Night Vision - decent daytime viewing Decent quality overall if you can buy it on sale - iOS App is really lacking in features - Set up was fairly easy, but I did not use the WPS feature - Night vision is excellent - Daytime vision is just "ok" and does not appear to be the "HD" quality - Web interface is poorly designed and is obviously written by someone not in the US :) - Confusing and difficult to configure the motion and alarm settings - Don't expect too much - my opinion - to get a "great" quality HD camera, you need to look at the $200 cameras...of course - good is subjective
