I am by no means an expert but I'm pretty good with networking with a degree in MIS. I'm looking into IP cameras myself and thus have some knowledge from research. Short answer I believe not. You would need a camera with PoE (Power over Ethernet) capabilities AND to be able to run the cat5 Ethernet cable from your router/modem to the location of the camera. If it is a good enough distance (not sure how big of a property) you would need a repeater to boost the signal somewhere down the line of the cable. I believe you will also need a PoE injector/splitter for camera side cable end. So it is possible, just not with this camera if I am correct. Lots of good info from searching on google. Good luck. Hope this helps. Read Less

I'm no expert but I am fairly good with networking. I don't believe it is possible with THIS camera. If you could run a stretch of outdoor purpose Ethernet (cat5) cord from your router/modem to the barn it is possible with a camera that has PoE (Power over Ethernet) capabilities. I believe you would need a PoE injector/splitter also for this. Lots of info on google.

Answer:
Hello Ron,
Foscam Cameras have a DDNS. After you have port-forwarded your camera, go into your camera network settings then DDNS then check the box and save it
From there it should be straight forward.

Rated 3.5 out of 5 by 31 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by The technology works very well.....if you know technology... The question: would you recommend this product? Yes & No. Really! It requires that you know how to change settings in your router so that you can port forward the camera's IP to allow users to pull it up on the net....other than THAT....it works fantastic! I have it in my mother's room (94 w Alzheimer’s). I have it set up on her chair, her bed, her bathroom and the doors to the room. Fantastic vid day and night. I can also hear her and could talk to her, if she could hear. I can also watch the aides and nurses. I can make sure she is safe on my phone, my computer etc. My sister in another state can pull her up. It really does work great. September 16, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good camera but not Plug and Play This camera is not "Plug and Play" I had to call customer support and they had problems getting it set up correctly. After they got it working it works okay but be aware it has false triggers caused by flashing lights or TV. January 19, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by HORRIBLE! THEIR TECH SUPPORT WORSE Their claim to fame is that you get free live setup help. WHAT A JOKE! wait times are over an hour. Then the reps are rude and impatient. They set it up alright but try using it. BIG MISTAKE December 21, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Hardware good, software wonky It looks and feels good. I put in the CD to install the camera software but software seemed "universal" so I installed the software for this model from their website, still didn't work completely. Finally found I should just go to the cameras IP address in my browser and use the software built into the camera. Even then there are too many settings. Find myself googling some of the features because they don't explain what it means. Need some tech skills to get all the fun out of it. Took a few days of playing to figure it out but now I got it down. The mobile app is a good, although you can't access recorded videos from the SD card on the app, only view live and start recording. I would like to try a Dlink just to compare. September 30, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by once installed works It is very frustrating to install it. The logo does not scan (said it is not their camera). Had a few tech support calls before I finally got hold of Brandon, who took control of my laptop and installed both of my cameras within 35minutes. Once installed it works. Here are what to expect: 1. Night vision is practically non existent. I had dim light and you cant see much more than a few feet away. 2. With light, it does give decent pictures. Audio does nork If you don't have huge expectations (for the price, you shouldn't), you can be quite satisfied as it does basically what it said (besides the ez install). Great for monitoring children with the two way audio July 25, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Foscam wireless 720p plug and play. When it first arrived it was pretty easy to install. When it came to set the settings up and the app. it took getting to know how it works and understanding but worked at the end. Now i can check on my house during the day to see how the baby sitter is doing with my kids right on my phone. It really gives you a safty blanket that you didnt have before. It works perfectly couldn't ask for more especially at the low pricing compared to others. I regret not buying more of them. September 15, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Quality picture anytime Nothing is perfect, so I have to rate this less than perfect. Pull out of box and plug in. Download app, scan camera and you are ready to record. Easy to use, great picture. Works well on watching my dog while I am away from the house. Tons of additional features online. Love it. Will purchase more. Watching an online video on how to set it up through my wireless router by a non professional helped a lot. August 11, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by PLUG 'N PLAY? Ahhh...NO! 'They' make it sound simple to set-up - IT S NOT! after 3 days and countless hours trying to do it on my own I decided to call TECH SUPPORT which took control of my computer and did everything for me --------------- when he was setting it up you should see all the steps he went through to get it to work! this is in no way - a simple PLUG 'N PLAY step up you need to be tech savvy! -------------- MY ADVICE call tech support right from start it's a 30+ minute wait but it's worth it once set-up - THE CAMERAS ARE GREAT! ---------------- all in all - I am not sure if I will keep them I will try them out for the next month and see what happens I have yet to view them from outside my home which will be the real test..
