Answer:
It's not soft like an indoor rug. That is the price you pay for an outdoor material. It's not too rough to walk on with bare feet though. It's not too rough, just not soft like indoor carpet.

It's fairly soft, not plushy since it is very thin. Good for keeping your feet warm on a cold outdoor surface.

Yes, it is very comfortable to the feet. Very thin though so if you want cushion you would need a good rug padding for underneath.

It is soft, but synthetic in feel. Also, it has no backing, so while the material itself is soft, it is not "cushy" to sit on if you have it on a hard surface.

I want to use this for my son to put his drum set on in the garage. We're buying a mat so the set won't slip and slide when he pounds on the drums, but I don't want something that the thickness of which makes the drums not stable.

I think this would be perfect for the garage and the drums. The rug is actually well made and I don't feel slipping with ever be an issue. My deck table and chairs that I have on this rug never wobble and only move when you want them to. Good choice.

Answer:
This is a very thin pile thickness for this rug, so the weight of the drums shouldn't make the mat be non-effective and/or making it slip.
But, we don't know what type of drums or setup it is, so it's really best to buy it, try it out, and even if it doesn't work, you can return it to your nearest Home Depot...even though it was purchased online.
Have your internet invoice handy just in case.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by So far, so good! These rugs are a great value. I use them outdoors on my deck. They really dress things up. They hold rainwater longer than I would like, but so far, no sign of mildew or rot. I plan to keep them indoors over the winter. September 4, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Ok Rug I bought this rug for my porch because it was extremely discounted. This is a very light weight rug. I bought two and carried both of them out in my arms (I am a 60 year old women). I am disappointed with the material and not sure how durable they will be. I gave them an overall rating of 2 because of the quality August 30, 2016
