Would work fine. I have one of these on my open upstairs porch in Las Vegas. It dries quick if wet, might need to put something on it to hold it down. It is lightweight and moves around in the wind if nothing on it.

It is thin and light weight. I, too, am using this area rug as an inexpensive way to cover up an unsightly floor area. Definitely does the trick. If you use it on a concrete surface, I believe you may need to secure it in some way to keep it from moving around. Read Less

Answer:
I don't see why not. I have had this rug for well over a year now. It is in my daughters tree house, which is exposed to the elements (rain, snow, ice) along with a great deal of foot traffic. It only shows minimal signs (slight fading) of wear and tear. The only thing you might want to consider is using an adhesive to attach it to the garage floor so it doesn't continually move.

Answer:
I don't think it would be durable enough, it is not very thick. The "unbound" label means that it does not have a thick backing, so I would think it would wear through rather quickly with an auto being parked on it.

Answer:
Sure, I would think so. It should lay flat and moisture should dry off from the surface. You may want to put some pieces of double stick tape under each corner to keep it from moving when you drive on and off of it, and never turn your steering wheel while on it as it will surely destroy the weave. Just straight on and straight off.

Answer:
Yes, you can easily cut this rug to fit any space. The rug can be with a utility knife or a pair of scissors. When I cut ours, I used a straight edge and a utility knife with a new razor blade. When I was done I didn't have any frayed edges and it didn't unravel at all.

Answer:
Yes, it should not unravel. The backing is sealed with the membrane. You could carefully apply heat to the cut edges to melt the nylon for a more durable edge, but be careful of too much heat as you may burn yourself and/or set a fire. I would use a hot flat piece of metal, heated enough to melt the nylon and move it along the edge. Do not touch the melted nylon as it will stick to your skin and burn. Read More

Answer:
Yes, if you leave anything covering your decking, including a rug, for a prolonged period of time you will have damage to the deck boards. This would trap and hold moisture against the decking, not allowing it time to dry. Moisture will inevitably seep into the decking and cause damage and rot.

Answer:
Hi! Thanks for your interest in the Smoke Gray Ribbed Area Rug. This product is lightweight and will dry out quickly once wet which will help the underlying surface. However, because of the many types of deck stains and paints we cannot say how it will turn out over a long period of time.
