Is there a gap between the fire pit ring and the blocks?

In the product photo, the concrete blocks appear to be right next to the fire pit ring. But, in the customer review photos, it appears there is a gap. If there is a gap, am I supposed to fill it with something?

Yes, there is a gap. Maybe 1-1/2" wide around the perimeter of the ring. We filled it with pea gravel. I may top it off with cut fireplace glass to add a decorative shimmer ...

Answer:
Good day, there is a gap, fill it with rock, pebbles or something of the sort to keep the heat from the blocks when burning a fire. You can also view the video of the complete install here using this link or call me at 888-379-2210. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9JWN4dIOu_I

30 is inside. You're right it is confusing because some are measured outside

Answer:
The inside diameter is 30" (this is the ring and the 1/2" space between the ring and the bricks, pea gravel area). The bricks themselves are 6 1/2", so the outside diameter (total occupied area) is 43"
Hope this helps

Not sure! With mine, I placed the ring on the ground and poured the concrete around the ring; so everything inside the ring (pea gravel) actually sits on the ground, and everything out side of the ring (fire pit stone) sits on the patio.
Hope this helps

Answer:
This can be placed on any level area. If you are placing on concrete and using it as a wood burning fire pit, I recommend you cut a hole in the concrete so the ash can go into the ground. If you dont, it will eventually seep out from the bottom causing your patio to get black stains on the concrete. Need further understanding? Dont hesitate to phone me direct at 888-379-2210

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 85 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good product! Pretty straight forward for assembly. Useds pavers to raise it up a bit and level and then used the concrete cement/caulk to affix all pieces. Assembled the 2 main rings and then used a pencil to trace/outline the edges before disassembling. This made it a breeze to re-assemble when using the cement caulk. Regardless of how you shifted around all the pieces they do not line up perfectly edge to edge, but once assembled you wouldn't know anyway. Took about 2 hrs from start to finish. Looks good and works well. Good product, just a little pricey. July 19, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not impressed The pit assembles easily. The adhesive does not hold, the sand leaks out the cracks, and the color isn't correct with the picture. July 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice product. Enjoyed many fires so far Finished product looks great. Very good, value if you catch it on sale. If you're assembling on gravel it takes some work to get a nice level base but after that it's easy. I had it delivered to the store to save shipping and loaded all of the parts into my SUV. Note that the top pieces should be placed directly on top of the top row of bricks, not spaced in between. I noticed many pics on the internet where the top section was installed wrong. Buy at least two tubes of the best concrete glue you can find and don't use it sparingly. The finished product is really solid September 1, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fabulous Addition to Our Backyard Remodel! After reading the instructions I was very confident ordering the product online. Picked it up along with the paver base and concrete adhesive on a Friday night. Arranged the stones on the garage floor to get the right "fit." Saturday morning we had it installed in about an hour. We've burned several fires in it already and love it! June 9, 2015
