Great question! Give me a call at 888-379-2210 so I can assist you. Yes you can do this to make it larger, however since it is a custom made kit, the inside square ring would need to be changed as well as some cutting to the top caps would be required as well. Thanks again, I look forward to hearing from you.

Will this fire pit work on a concrete slab? Do you recommend treating the concrete or adding a layer on top of the cement?

Answer:
Yes, it will work on a concrete slab but the heat can potentially damage the concrete especially over the long run. If this is a concern then a heat shield should be installed under the fire pit. We have a rectangular space with pavers in the ground and we have a basic fire pit now. We'd like to do a limestone fire pit and a pergola, but wondering if the pergola height will be high enough so that the flames would effect the wood at the top? Thanks

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 48" Limestone Fire Pit Kit - Great quality, Easy to install Looks great. Simple to install. Great value. You could not build a firepit from scratch for this price or in such a short time. This kit took 20 minutes to install on an existing paver patio. If you are installing on a lawn or unlevel area, it will take longer to prep the ground than actually install the kit. If you are installing on an existing patio or paver system, be sure to lay down an inner set of brick or stone. This will protect the original base from charring or staining, should you decide to later relocate or discard. We also did not glue it down, as the pieces are heavy enough they will not move. This also gives you flexibility to decide on a final location. Suggest to get a steel cover to lay down when not in use. This will protect the pit, prevent wind from blowing ash and water from getting in to make mud. ***Important - When scheduling delivery, have shipping company drop pallet as close to final location as possible. Contents weigh 1,500 Lbs - its a good workout. Kids and dog love it - great for roasting hot dogs and smores! October 13, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent purchase! We couldn't be happier with our new fire pit. It is beautiful and the stones fit together nicely. The most difficult part of installation was leveling our yard to create a solid base. The stones were fairly heavy, so I would suggest using 2 people to complete this project. July 7, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Seems Solid - Can Not Use Yet - So For Now 4 Stars Wow, this thing was heavy! I took advantage of the free at home shipping special, and on the pallet it weighs 1500 pounds! I had to break it apart and move brick by brick. Seems like a good solid firepit. Square is a great way to go for fire pits - looks more functional and can serve as a bench. Installation was about an hour (without final adhesive). I will know more later, as I have to use concrete adhesive to keep everything together, and need constant temps over 40 to do that (could be an April thing here in New England). Overall I think this will be a great addition to the patio for many hours of entertainment. January 14, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Product; Easy to Install Very pleased with the fire pit. After preparing the base, had the pit installed in no time at all. Only complaint would be that the metal ring was already pretty scratched up when it arrived, and rusted readily after the first time it rained (before I even had it installed). Three coats of Rustoleum high heat paint, and I think I'll be good to go. August 13, 2013
