I agree that the instructions are vague at best. The overall quality of this is poor, compared to the price. From a DIY perspective, this kit is poorly engineered. The post mounts are extremely ugly, they should have been concealed saddle clips like the top. Further more they should be drilled and tapped, not through bolted. Where the rake flashing meets the fascia is sad, and should be a true miter not a foam closure. The fascia/gutter design is a good start, but fails at drain aspect. If you do not have a strong hands on construction back ground, I would not buy this. I personally would never buy this kit again for this price.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by DLWA Worth all the Effort
Overall the product is a great shade structure. It is very time comsuming to install and we had to buy tools and drill bits that we didn't have. The concrete bolts that came with the product were of poor quality and so we bought better ones. I recommend having 3-4 people on hand before you start to set up. Also, the directions say you will need 2 step ladders, but you really need 3.The directions are very sketchy and do not include enough detailed illustrations.. Be sure to read them several times through before beginning. Also, although seemingly well packaged, there were a few dents in one of the panels when it arrived. So keep in mind that the panels are easliy dented and must be handled with care. The bottom line is that it is a lot of work to install but ultimately worth the effort.

Instructions hard to follow. Snap together panels very difficult to assemble 10' off ground. Top flashing very difficult to mount. After snapping panels together one must be slid along joint to become flush with foam strip sealer. Panel edges were not straight line making it difficult to snap together or slide. No weatherstripping was provided to seal lap joints. Appearance is adequate but only as a result of extensive rework. Would not buy again or recommend to hobby or beginning assembler.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by tceks2 Excellent item
It took just 2 people to assemble this item. The worse part was when you get to the end, it was hard to be able to put the last side fascia on. I had to drill extra holes in the hanging channel to make it fit. Over all, I would recommend this item to purchase. The one thing they should offer for this item is an electric connection kit so that you could put lighting under it.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by MAP1 Patio Cover Met Expectations
I was looking for something that would shelter my patio / back deck which is in the sun most of the day. This product met my expectations completely. When I ordered it on line I didn’t realize that it was coming from California, as I live in Northern, VA. It arrived by truck in 5 huge / long boxes. I was quit surprised at the number of pieces that were included. I realized at the very beginning that I couldn’t do this by myself. With the help of friends we proceeded to try to assemble the patio cover. The directions were OK but not very descriptive. I had trouble with most of the directions. It actually took four people to assemble this when it came to installing the roof panels. Two people had to put pressure on the side post while the other two people slid the roof panels into place and had trouble trying to lock the panels into each other. It took most of the day to assemble, but I'm pleased to say I am very happy with the final product and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is thinking about purchasing it.
