The patio cover was easy to assemble. I took my time and spread it out over four days. I did not have any help but was able to complete it by myself using a couple of ladders to temporarily hold the posts in place while affixing the roof panels. My only complaint is that I had to drill a large number of holes through the steel posts, and it seems like some of the holes could have been predrilled - otherwise no complaints. It is a very good product and is very sturdy and attractive. I added my own decorative skirts at the bottom of each post to finish it off.

I found instructions difficult to follow and the pictures appeared to be copy of copies they were not good!!!. I have put a lot of things together, but this was by far the hardest.

The product itself was good. The sorry excuse for instructions was pathetic. It might as well have been written in Chinese. The pictures and nomenclature were inaccurate and misleading, and the directions were incomplete. What should have been a 3 to 4 hour project, with 5 people working on it turned into a 12 hour marathon. I probably would not purchase this product again.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Jack This is not a project for beginners and you will need help.
First the good; Now that it’s finished, I love my new patio cover. Now the bad; Things started off on the wrong foot. I ordered the patio cover on May 13th. Then after leaving California on May 18th and arriving in St. Louis on the 24th, it was scheduled for delivery on the 25th. But then the shipping company, “Saia”, decided that my patio cover might enjoy a trip to see Florida. So it arrived in West Palm Beach on May 25th. After several scenic stops it returned back in St. Louis on May 28th and was FINALLY delivered on the 31st. Complaints from previous reviewers about the assembly instructions being vague and inadequate are well justified. The drawings are not an adequate representation of what the parts actually look like. It should have pictures instead. I get the feeling that the instructions are from a previous model and have not been updated. For example, it tells you to mark and drill the holes for splicing the two front fascia’s at 1”, 14”, 16” and 29”. The problem is that the splice panel is only 24” long. Speaking of marking and drilling, I estimate that only about 5 percent of the holes needed are predrilled. You will have to lay out, mark and drill all the rest. To be a true “Do It Yourself” project, all holes should be predrilled. Also some screws did not match the parts list. The panels can be very difficult to get them locked together. THIS IS NOT A PROJECT FOR BEGINNERS! I have 50 plus years of experience in “Do It Yourself Projects”, home maintenance, remodeling and repair, including previously installing a 10’X20’ and a 10’X10’ patio cover by myself and this one was a time consuming struggle for me with help. The only reason I gave it 3 stars instead of just 1 is because, now that it’s done, it seems sturdy and looks great!

It would've been easier if the holes were pre-drilled

I went into this project having read the reviews, and was not surprised. The instructions were very unclear, and neglected some facts and steps. Also, I would recommend a hammer drill because requires many holes to be drilled into concrete, slab, and several pieces of the aluminum cover.
That being said, over 3 days it went up, doesn't leak, and looks pretty good. Like with any project you have to do some improvisation, but make it work.

It could use a few more close ups on some of the key installation points.

We bought it with the sole intention of making a garage out of it and we did just that...All of our garage estimates came in at between 9 and 12K and we built a very cute garage for under 5K...
