Customer Questions & Answers

Nail head size?

Will this gun take a 7/16 or larger head nail? Looking for a nail gun to use for QuietBrace structural sheathing. Thanks!
Asked by: Farran
This nail head diameter is 10mm, just shy of your 11.11mm or 7/16" requirement.

Will this gun take this nail?

The coil nails are 15 degree Plastic Insert collated, 1 3/4" length with a .225" (approx. 7/32" diam) head diameter made of .092" (13 gauge) RING shank 304 Grade Stainless Steel.
Asked by: Kip
Make sure these are roofing nails, not siding nails. The PCN45 takes wire collated roofing nails.

Will this gun shoot a ring shank nail

Asked by: Tom
Yes, the PCN45 will shoot ring shank roofing nails that still fall within the nail requirements of 15 Degree, 3/4" to 1-3/4" long and .120" in diameter. These are very common roofing nailer requirements.

I see that states you can use this gun for vinyl siding. Can this gun be set to leave a gap as is needed when nailing vinyl siding so it can move as it expands and contracts?
Asked by: Dave
The Freeman Coil Roofing nailer does have a tool free depth adjustment. Adjusted all the way to its shallowest setting, along with backing off the air pressure some, you could likely find the correct gap for vinyl siding expansion, however consistency may be an issue. Bostitch does manufacture a Vinyl siding adapter for their roofing nailer to provide consistency, at this point I am not certain if that would fit our nailer or not.

15-Degree Coil Roofing Nailer is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tool I bought this nailer to roof my garage. It did great. Only had a problem when it was user error.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great tool for the price This is a great roofing gun for the price, a little front heavy but built to last.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Freeman Roofing Nailer Just did my roof with it and it worked beautifully. Only misfired once and that is because I don't think I loaded it perfectly. Keep the trigger down and bounce from one spot to the next. Don't try to shoot it like a gun on shingles maybe drip edge. It will dry fire empty. It was about the same price to buy this and do the job at my speed vs renting and paying more for the nails and having to drive back and forth a couple times. Very good product very good delivery. Only one size nails @ 1 1/4 but half the price of some others. I would like some 1 3/4 for other purposes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Coil nailer by Freeman I thought I would buy a few new guns for the season. These work great. My guys are rough on equipment so I will see how these work out. Not a bad price. Shipped very well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Freeman 15 Degree CoilRoofing Nailer A good product for the price. Has a tendency to shoot multiple nails.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good value for the money This gun would be more for a Handyman and not a roofing contractor. I don't have that much time on it but compared to the Bostich Gun it looks like a little too much plastic and in cold weather could fracture also not sure on the replacemant parts . These are small things and still think it is a good value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Roofing Nailer Works great for my small jobs as a homeowner. I do not think it would be the best for a professional. I would buy it again as it is a good value for me.
