Customer Reviews

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Light weight, well-built and offers great warranty SHIPPING Freeman 2-in-1 Lightweight nailer was shipped with ample packaging / no parts missing. PACKAGE CONTENTS/ASSEMBLY It came almost assembled with air-connector and dust cap pre-installed. I had to attach the arm using two hex bolts and nuts, a 2 minutes easy assembly. Package included lubrication oil, mallet, 3 hex keys, ¾” foot plate (pre-installed) and 5/8” plate. FEATURES The moment I held it, the most noticeable difference was its weight, considerably lighter than most nailers I have used. Does that mean quality is compromised? Not at all, its anodized aluminum magazine and heat treated steel parts certainly provide increased resistance to corrosion & wear and that explains the 7 years warranty it comes with. The feature I like the most is its dual capability; from the same magazine it can fire cleats or staples and that’s pretty cool. It’s compatible with generic 15.5 gauge staples and 16 gauge L-cleats. PERFORMANCE I put it to work on half a day job installing cherry 3/4 in. solid hardwood and used it with 20 gal compressor (5.3 CFM at 90 psi). It performed above expectations with no jams, air leaks or slow cycles. No-Mar design definitely helped on the finished planks. I am very satisfied with its performance. As always, given the material and the fastener length, try few test nails to gauge the correct psi. I’ve always used my pneumatic tools with air filter and never had problems so use it with filter and get the best out of it. The User Manual is very well detailed and offers great tips for DIYers. IMPROVEMENTS It would be nice to have a slot or tab on the nailer to store the hex key so that when I am swapping the plate, I am not looking for it. All-in-all, the nailer is light weight, well-built and offers great warranty. June 4, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worth every Penny. Just finished using this to install 600 sq. ft. 3/4" Ash hardwood over 3/4" OSB subfloor. Ash is HARD, it's used in baseball bats and axe handles...This tool performed incredibly well, I am thrilled at the performance. Since it worked so consistently, I could focus on the flooring rather than the tool. I used a compressor set at 75 psi. Advice now: you can develop a routine with this tool, it will respond nicely - hit it in a consistent manner, it fires with authority, sinks the cleat perfectly. It takes literally one second to check the nail supply in the magazine, and 5 seconds to reload it. The included mallet has a non-marring face, so it's perfect for 'scooching' the flooring pieces into position. BEFORE you start using this tool, take 1 heavy duty zip tie and wrap it tightly around 'front' of the rubber sleeve that forms the grip, to prevent the sleeve from trying to crawl off the plastic handle during use. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sturdy nailer This Freeman pneumatic nailer has an ABS plastic handle that is lightweight making it easy to move and the vibration is minimal. The fiberglass striking mallet has a nice weight and feel. I installed tongue and groove flooring using 4,000 L-cleats for an 800 sq. ft. pre-finished oak floor and only had two jams (from hitting it at an angle) but they are very easy to clear. And I didn't scratch any of the boards. I just kept loading the cleats and it kept on going. I oiled it at the start of each day and it worked smoothly. The weight of the mallet triggers the gun with just a normal swing. I used 8” spacing and got nice results. I think it is a great bargain. April 21, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by easy for the DIYer It was easy to assemble the nailer right out of the box. Being light weight helps with the use also. April 29, 2015
