Yes, this nailer is pneumatic, requiring air power form a compressor to work. Here is a Freeman option for you: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Freeman-3-gal-Oil-Free-Portable-Electric-Air-Compressor-TA3GCOMP/206057665

As long as it's tongue and groove, mine came with the 3/4 adapter plate installed so you may have to change that first but it's only 3 screws and the allan wrench comes with it.

Answer:
This nailer is NOT recommended for Stranded Bamboo flooring for multiple reasons. 1) It shoots 16ga cleats and 15.5 ga staples which are too large to penetrate the density of stranded bamboo and can damage the tongue. 2) It has a metal base and it is not recommended for prefinished flooring. I would recommend the Husky HD18GLCN 18ga L-cleat flooring nailer. You may be able to find it in a local Home Read More

Customer Reviews

3-in-1 Flooring Air Nailer and Stapler is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 122.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Returned - Leaky Gasket after ~100 hits I wish I could give this a higher rating. The order was delivered before the estimated delivery date, the packaging/case is solid, it even came with safety glasses and oil. Unfortunately after about 100 hits, the main gasket on the body started leaking. I was able to get one of my rooms finished with the leak (the compressor just kept recharging every 5 hits), but since the leak happened immediately I returned it instead of dealing with the warranty. I was operating around 90-95 PSI and oiled it before use. Other than the gasket, it was very solid construction. Seeing that other reviews didn't have this problem, I would still recommend it. Clearly I just got a rare bad apple.

I personally prefer the nails / staples with a 90-degree head as they seem to hold and pull the hardwood flooring tighter to the sub-floor, but that is just my preference. Nailer works flawlessly and has not jammed or misfired at all. Don't be afraid to hit the button with the mallet, it seems to do its best job with a firm strike. I have had the Nailer for about a month so far and I used it to install 1,000 SF of 3/4in Hardwood. Love the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far, so very good I received the Freeman 3-in-1 quickly and put it to work immediately, installing a pre-finished, 3/4-inch hardwood floor (Brazilian cherry) in a 150 sf room. Using just over 400 two-inch staples, I finished the project in about nine hours with NO jams or misfires. Regulated air pressure was set to about 95 psi. I did not lubricate the product during the project, but will do so before the next project. This product is every bit as good as the nailers I had been renting for $30-35 per day; it will save me money in the not-so long term as I have another 850 sf of hardwood flooring to install.
