Answer:
I installed it using a product HD sells called Eco-Bond Model # MP25-4 pk10.1-oz. Multi-Purpose Adhesive. I applied it directly to the greenboard I used. I put a double bead around the edges. I also used it to hold the base down as well. I didn't use nails or screws anywhere for this install. Its been a few months and everything seems fine.

Answer:
They are 2 seperate pieces, This is done in case the walls are not perfectly square.they fit together very easily. That way you can make adjustments as necessary. Before you glue the panels to the wall make sure you run a bead of silicone down the back as close to the corner edge as possible. This will help to keep any water from leaking thru.

In the picture the hardware for the faucet is on the right side. Since the walls are two separate pieces are they able to switch sides?

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.5 out of 5 by 35 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Cheap Junk Paper thin side panels with holes from bad mold process. Cracks and holes were from manufacturing as box had no damage and was handled carefully. Waste of money. September 8, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by What we were looking for. This shower stall is about as cheap as you will find, but that is exactly what we were looking for in our basement bathroom. We had a drain roughed in when the house was built. However, that was for a tub and it needed to be moved over a bit for this shower. So we hired a plumber to do that work for us. The rest was done by us without any assistance. We are beginners at this and very much amateurs. We went slow and did a little bit each day. Read the instructions again and again. The base was set in mortar and the walls were attached to drywall with liquid nails. The curtain rod screws into the outer corners and through a couple of boards that we had to supply and screw to the wall. That helps hold the walls in place. Then lots of caulk. We added trim boards to the top and sides before caulking. It looks nice and is functional. Worth what we paid, but it was a lot of work. July 23, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Cracked base We had our shower installed in our new house and moved in about a month ago. Yesterday, while cleaning the shower, I noticed a crack that goes about half way around the base!! I can't believe the water has not been leaking out of it yet. After reading the warranty, we MAY get a new base, but we will be responsible for having to pay someone to replace it!!!! Great! Really liked the shower before, now wouldn't recommend at all!! Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by bad customer service purchased unit then discovered the flaws. unit is easy to install however buyer be ware this unit has some issues with leaking thru the sides when the curtain is installed. was instructed to put splash guards on unit to prevent the leakage. contacted customer service when I found same unit with the surround available and was told to be able to convert the unit to a shower door unit was going to cost a lot more then just buying model number 455000 unit that has the doors with it. if you are interested in this unit do yourself a favor and buy the Model number 455000 unit it may cost about $175 more but it will be better then having to replace your floors do to water damage. customer service will not give you a decent price to buy the doors, track, and hardware. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Convenient for snug space I needed a walk-in shower for a bath remodel that would fit a tight space and allow the possible future addition of a bath seat for my elderly mother - this fit the bill. Be sure to check the other reviews for installation recommendations - we found many useful suggestions that helped with our project. November 12, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Of no value This shower would be over priced at 1/6 it's retail value. Cheap and flimsy, needs to be installed against a solid concrete wall to have any strength at all. Would not purchase this or recommend purchase to anyone. I liked the design it is just that this is way overpriced and junk. It is a shame because the design met the criteria of what we wanted, what a disappointment when the box was opened. To secure the shower to the wall it was necessary to screw through the shower and into the wall studs to make it secure. Stall isn't strong enough to support shower head and fixtures, those have to be secured separately from behind. I repeat, this is junk. Buy something else. March 18, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not as advertised Buyer beware! This product is NOT 38" x 38" x 78" as advertised! The walls are only 33-1/2" wide and the base is only 35-1/2" wide. You will need backer strips, panhead screws and some other items to install this kit properly. Don't bother asking Home Depot because all they will do is refer you to the manufacturer's toll free number which is 800-345-3358. Good luck. If you have the time to call them make sure you get all the information about extra parts not included (backer strips, screws) and why you need roofing nails! You pay for what you get and that is the only reason I recommend this product is because it is an inexpensive way to remodel a basement bathroom. January 2, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't waste your time For starters it comes with terrible instructions. I have problems with water running along where the base and walls meet and onto the floor. I called ASB, the company that makes the unit looking for help, and after being on hold for ever got no help at all. This thing is cheap paper thin plastic and was a waste of money. July 9, 2015
