Customer Questions & Answers

How loud is this unit when running

I can find no information on the noise level (Decibels) this unit creates. This would make or break a purchase, as the unit will be in relatively close proximity to my sleeping area.
Asked by: Bixn
It is completely silent...until it breaks down, and then it has a loud, vibrating drone that doesn't stop until it is unplugged.

Are the online measurements exact.

Will have to go through narrow door opening. Are the measurements of the width and depth with out the door on it exact. Are there any fins on back which are not part of the measurement on the depth without the door measurment?

No, the rear is smooth with an opening at the bottom containing the compressor, drip pan and other necessary pieces.

Customer Reviews

10 cu. ft. Top Freezer Refrigerator in White is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 169.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The BEST for RV use I did a ton of research before replacing my Norcold RV refrigerator and this one came out #1 by far. If you plan to make the conversion, there are some issues. First, these fridges are not built-ins and will require clearance for air circulation. The Frigidaire needs only an inch on either side, which is probably all you'll have anyway. Other brands wanted far more. Don't be tempted to skip that. The sides get warm, so no doubt that's where the coils are located. I recommend sealing both outside vents on the RV and treating it like a house fridge, which it is. I've heard of other people who leave both vents open and seal off the fridge from the living area. FWIW, I've noticed that on new RV's that are sold with residential fridges, the mfg's have eliminated the outdoor vents. The second important issue for an RV conversion is power. Most residential fridges have a brief spike of several amps when the compressor turns on which can sometimes cause problems in an RV. This one doesn't. I used a Kill-A-Watt to measure it and watched the numbers slowly climb from zero to around 80 watts where it settled. Amazing. Bonus points: This will be a snap to operate on an inverter or small generator. The third reason I picked the Frigidaire is operating temperature. Other brands I looked at said their fridge wouldn't operate below 60 or above 90 degrees, and warned against using in a garage. No such restriction on the Frigidaire. Just keep it between 10 and 110 degrees, per the manual. Otherwise, it's a very nice fridge overall. Mine is set on medium and is holding 34 degrees in the bottom and zero in the freezer. No frost, and it's virtually silent. The only issue I can't address is durability, but I am aware of a few other RV'ers who have this model and report no problems over a couple of years. That was good enough for me.

Top Freezer Refrigerator in White: So far am very pleased with the product. Using it in an RV and couldn't be happier. The factory pre-sets appear to be working very well keeping frozen foods frozen and drinks and other foods chilled to perfection.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrific Experience The refrigerator initially was as advertised, but within a year it began making a horrific, loud noise, and the freezer "frosted up" (completely filled with frost). Because the product was within warranty, I contacted Frigidaire on March 15, 2016, to schedule a repair. However, Frigidaire refused to schedule a repair because I was unable to provide a serial number--because Frigidaire had failed to attach a serial number plate or sticker to the inside of the fridge upon manufacture. When I produced my Home Depot receipt, Frigidaire still refused to schedule service. Frigidaire finally agreed to provide me a replacement serial number--a process that took Frigidaire several days . Even after Frigidaire assigned a replacement serial number, they refused to tell me the serial number or to schedule a repair until I received the replacement serial number sticker through U.S. Mail. When I finally received the replacement serial number, the earliest available repair to be scheduled was April 7. So because of bad customer service (in addition to a bad quality refrigerator), I will have been without a working refrigerator from March 15 until at least April 7--more than three weeks. Throughout this time, the Frigidaire customer service representative (Kristina R.) has simply ignored multiple e-mails from me asking for status updates on the issuance of the serial number, the scheduling of a repair, etc. The experience with Frigidaire has been a nightmare.

However, after 14 months of medium use (after the 1 year warranty, of course), the freezer door would pop open just a little if you closed the refrigerator somewhat hard. Often we wouldn't notice the freezer was ajar, and the freezer would freeze up and the whole unit would quit working until we defrosted it. I put a child-lock contraption on the freezer door so it wouldn't pop open, and that solved that problem (though it was a little inconvenient and looked stupid). Now, after 24 months, it is not working at all. Light comes on inside but nothing else. It should have lasted longer than that.

Purchased 02/2016 and it just quit running after only 13 months. I used it in a rec room kitchenette, it looks nice and holds quite a bit of groceries but I have never even had a frig break down in over 40 years. Frigidaire says sorry it's out of warranty and even better they have no authorized repair men in the 2nd largest city in Michigan. How can that be, Frigidaire/Electrolux refrigerators were made only 15 miles away until 10 years ago? My dilemma now is do I pay to repair it or cut my losses and buy another frig? I have a few days to think about it while Frigidaire tries to find someone to service it.

From the beginning, she had trouble with it because the vents in the freezer needed to be clear or the refrigerator would not get cold. This significantly lowered the usable capacity of the freezer compartment, and increased the probability of food spoiling. She has kept an eye on it since, and has had no other problems (but she had to get a separate freezer to use). Now after 16 months, it has quit working completely. It may not be an expensive fridge, but we expected it to last longer than that.

The fridge will be exactly what we need for our trailer.......but.... the one we received had some issues. The packaging was pristine, the fridge appeared perfect when unwrapped. But inside, the drawers were broken, the shelves were pushed into the interior surfaces, the drip pan was broken, the door shelves were jammed into the shelves. Had no clue what happened until the awesome Home Depot service people told us about the way the fridges are handled. This one was likely crushed by the forklift operator. Amazing amount of damage inside, with no exterior indication. Ordered a new fridge. Will check it before accepting it. Have to say the layout is perfect, the size is perfect, larger than our old one. So we will try again! Home Depot was excellent for service in this matter.
