i have installed numerous mini kitchens over the years using various 24inch width whirlpool refrigerators at the far right side in a corner allowing only 25 3/4 space. at that time the doors used a low profile handle and the door itself when open was flush with the right side of the unit. Whirlpool now sells units with a curved door that will not open completely in my installations. I need to know if this Frigidaire unit has a door that is flush on the hinge side of the door and if not what is the width with the door open

Answer:
Hello yug2501! The width of the refrigerator FFTR1022QW with the door open is going to be 24 inches wide. The hinge sit flush with the door as it is opened. We do ask that you allow a minimum clearance of three inches around to provide adequate air circulation. Hopefully this information is helpful to you. –Thanks!-

Customer Reviews

10 cu. ft. Top Freezer Refrigerator in White is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 145.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The BEST for RV use I did a ton of research before replacing my Norcold RV refrigerator and this one came out #1 by far. If you plan to make the conversion, there are some issues. First, these fridges are not built-ins and will require clearance for air circulation. The Frigidaire needs only an inch on either side, which is probably all you'll have anyway. Other brands wanted far more. Don't be tempted to skip that. The sides get warm, so no doubt that's where the coils are located. I recommend sealing both outside vents on the RV and treating it like a house fridge, which it is. I've heard of other people who leave both vents open and seal off the fridge from the living area. FWIW, I've noticed that on new RV's that are sold with residential fridges, the mfg's have eliminated the outdoor vents. The second important issue for an RV conversion is power. Most residential fridges have a brief spike of several amps when the compressor turns on which can sometimes cause problems in an RV. This one doesn't. I used a Kill-A-Watt to measure it and watched the numbers slowly climb from zero to around 80 watts where it settled. Amazing. Bonus points: This will be a snap to operate on an inverter or small generator. The third reason I picked the Frigidaire is operating temperature. Other brands I looked at said their fridge wouldn't operate below 60 or above 90 degrees, and warned against using in a garage. No such restriction on the Frigidaire. Just keep it between 10 and 110 degrees, per the manual. Otherwise, it's a very nice fridge overall. Mine is set on medium and is holding 34 degrees in the bottom and zero in the freezer. No frost, and it's virtually silent. The only issue I can't address is durability, but I am aware of a few other RV'ers who have this model and report no problems over a couple of years. That was good enough for me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible Worst refrigerator I've ever had. I've had it for two months and the freezer froze which disabled the refridgerator portion of the unit and all of my food was spoiled. (The refrigeration for the bottom comes from the freezer which was iced through.) Yes it was under warranty and yes they came and fixed it, but I am out about $300 in food (about 75% of the cost of the darn thing). It was so disgusting - there were bugs in in refridgerator portion because it was so warm that the food rotted. This could have been alleviated had it been leveled when The Home Depot delivered it. The doors do not close securely which could also have contributed to the problem. It is also very small so read the measurements carefully. I am so turned off that I'm not sure if I would buy another appliance from The Home Depot.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Small, Freezes over because doors don't look tight I bought the refrigerator in June and by July I had lost $350 in food because the refrigerator portion was hot and the freezer portion was iced over. Frigidaire sent a repair man who spent about an hour pouring hot water through the intake between the freezer and the refrigerator to get the ice out (if you don't know the refrigerator is actually cooled through the freezer and when this is iced through, no cooling air can flow). It seems to work now, but I have to be very careful about the doors. You don't get the securely closed feeling of most refrigerators. There's been times when I know it was closed, but I'll come home and it's open ... and I live alone and have never met any kitchen ghosts..ha! Wouldn't buy again, would love to return, and would definitely not recommend. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DON'T BUY We've had this refrigerator 6 months and the same thing happened to us as stated by another reviewer. The fan became loud while the freezer over froze and the bottom refrigerator is warm. We called to have it repaired under the warranty and we were referred to one appliance repair shop in our area. When we called this repair shop the lady was rude, said they were booked up and going on vacation. Now Frigidaire can't find another repair place that they deal with and said they won't reimburse us if we find someone on our own. We have to wait for some group to look for other service places and we have no idea how long this will take. My husband has been on hold at least 20 minutes (so far) to talk to a manager. Meanwhile, food is getting spoiled. We'll never buy a Frigidaire again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little fridge This is a great little refrigerator for a small area. Works great! Only thing is I wish it actually had handles to open the doors but other than that it is the perfect size for our office kitchen! Everything works great on it and has plenty of room!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good buy for the size This fridge is good but there are some issues about whether it keeps food consistently cold. I have had a few small issues with food not being kept cold the entire time but overall it is a good fridge for the price and size.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Garage ref Have only had it a couple of months for use in the garage. Haven't had it long enough to evaluate cold temp operation but is working well in this hot summer heat.
