Customer Questions & Answers

Does the delivery include installation?

Asked by: Anonymous
Home Depot charges about $70 to install the dishwasher. But if the electric outlet and the drain is so far away from the dishwasher that the cord and hose will not reach, they will not install the unit even though you paid them to install it. They will refund your installation money after some in-house confusion. The dishwasher has a very short electric cord and drain hose, so many installations cannot be done by the warehouse delivery persons.

Is this DW suitable for end of cabinet installation without an existing countertop & side?

Is this for a built in application or can it be used for an end of cabinet situation. It would have to be finished on the sides and top for my purposes.
Asked by: sickofwashingdishes
This one is built in, which means the sides and top are not enclosed by trim. You may want to consider a "roll away " unit.

Saw the feedback of complaints of it, but does it do the job? i need a small dishwasher for light washing jobs at my moms house. need more details. noise is levels are subjective and cant imagine it would be banging things around when washing.

18 in. Front Control Dishwasher in White with Stainless Steel Tub is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 92.

This dishwasher came with a remarkably short electric cord and drain hose that could only fit a space with an electric outlet within a foot or so of the dishwasher and a drain outlet of the same distance. To hook up the appliance in most situations requires an extension electric cord and supplemental drain hose that do not come with the device. Instructions require the hose to be fastened above the sink trap or garbage disposal outlet in a high loop to prevent back siphoning. The required loop height stated in the instructions is actually higher than the counter and therefore unattainable in lots of installation situations. A slightly lower installation seems to be adequate for proper operation of the unit. The original drain hose is attached to the dishwasher, so a longer new hose cannot be substituted. Rather, an extension has to be attached to the end of the existing hose with a nipple and clamps. Concerning the dishwasher itself after a month of use, the silverware rack is essentially useless and too small to be very useful. The layout of the slide-out racks is conventional, but less utilitarian than other dishwashers I have used. Large pots and pans are best washed by hand as the dishwasher is not configured for their fit. Pre-rinse of the dishes by hand before putting them in the unit is needed as they will not be clean otherwise after a full cycle of the dishwasher. The front panel controls are a bit confusing until one uses the controls a bit. Heated dry is not indicated but occurs unless unheated dry is selected. Using solid-pod dishwasher soap in the soap dispenser may not be advisable on a short cycle as the soap may not dissolve and it becomes a blob on the floor of the machine. The stainless steel tub and racks are good features. The adjustable feet on the dishwasher are good features as they are long enough to adjust the height of the unit in most under-the-counter situations. Overall the dishwasher is adequate, but somewhat deficient. Other selections should be explored, but dishwashers of this size may all have limited capabilities.

I thought it was just a fluke. I got a second dishwasher re-ordered after returning the first, same thing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quiet and performs well I got this dishwasher in April of 2016, so far no complaints at all. From the time I installed it, this thing runs like a champ. I got this because of the low amp draw, and did a lot of research on other dishwashers. This is a quiet dishwasher, has multiple wash cycles. For a quick hour or so wash, the energy saver wash cycles is great for not so dirty dishes. It has a hi-temp wash for the tough dishes to wash. Being an 18" it is smaller than a 24" obviously but it is perfect for my family. I would recommend this product, easy install as well. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very decent little dishwasher This is better than most of my previous full-size dishwashers but not all. To get well-timed dishes clean, I must run Normal wash. It holds more than I expected, when dishes are carefully loaded. I usually run the dishwasher at bedtime, and I don't use the dry cycle, usually, to save electricity. Propping the door open before work the next day leaves me clean, dry dishes when I return home. I wish it were a little more powerful AND a bit quieter. It's not bad, though. From my research, this is the best small dishwasher on the market. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

The first one leaked profusely on it's test run. Water just poured out of the bottom of the door. I had repair people there 3 times. The first said it was a faulty valve. They had to order the part and come back to install. Still leaked. The next guy said the unit was installed too high and the door wouldn't close properly. (It wasn't. Still leaked.) Home Depot agreed to replace the unit. The delivery/installation was today. This new unit does the EXACT SAME THING! The installer told me the seal is terrible on this unit. I'm just baffled as to the amount of positive reviews on this thing. How could I get TWO dishwashers that leak the exact same way and no one else has had this issue? I could cry right now. A product that's meant to hold water should HOLD WATER!

It arrived with a small, but still noticeable ding in the front. It does not seem to heat up properly and there is always water left inside when I open it. Very disappointing. Old one worked better!
