Cls48, thank you for your inquiry. It is a great question. Front load washer model FFTW1001PW automatically calculates water level based on a dry load sensing procedure which determines load size before adding water to the tub. Feel free to review the User and Care Manual (http://www.homedepot.com/catalog/pdfImages/7a/7a1cad27-b34a-4ff4-8b41-4617d626d738.pdf). We hope this information is of assistance. Read More

Read in consumer reports that Frigidaire had fewer repairs than other models. And at least the drum isn't plastic. Read Less

3.4 cu. ft. Top Load Washer with Stainless Steel Tub in White is rated 3.1 out of 5 by 118.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not happy The washer came with the new home. Unfurtunally I am not happy with the machine. First: doesn't have a detergent dispenser, that means I have to pour it in top of the clothe which I don't like. Scnd: doesn't have a short cycle for small loads (baby clothing) and take an hour no matter which cycle you choose. Third: It brake some sheets (2) pillowcases because got stuck under the spinner and I have to buy tools to take out the spinner. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very Basic This washer is not one I personally picked out its what the option was with my mobile home purchase. I despise the locking lid. I will hit the pause button to add or adjust something and sometimes it won't unlock I will have to unplug it. I do not like that the water doesn't dispense until lid is shut so clothes are thrown on top of soap. Also there is not just a spin option for items that may be still too wet, just a rinse and spin so it adds more water. I do like the pre soak option for those set in stains. It does the job well but definitely not a purchase I would've made if I had been giving more options or were actually shopping around.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I'm torn We moved into a new build and this was selected for us. Overall it is great but there is one huge issue. It keeps ripping up clothes. So far a new set of sheets and a blouse have been ruined. Keeping our fingers crossed it stops and it was a fluke. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Takes too long to wash! Washer came with the new house. Unfortunately, there does not seem to be a way to regulate the wash cycle. It takes way too long to do one wash. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible I have nothing nice to say about this machine. This machine is of a very poor design and has a very loud vibrating sound that wakes me if I am sleeping or, in order to hear the tv I have to turn it up while machine is running.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Loud scraping and grinding noises Received my new washer on Wednesday November 9 and did my first load. Scraping and grinding noises occurred using the Casual cycle during wash mode. I pulled it away from the wall, figured it's new, and it needs to work the kinks out. I used it again on Thursday Nov 10 using Normal/Heavy cycle and it was louder but in a shorter time span. I'm thinking the kinks are coming out. Today Saturday November 12 I'm using the Bedding and Normal cycles. During the wash mode, it's so loud. Besides return this thing, what do I do with the noise? Can it be fixed?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Washing Machine I purchased a home in Jan 2016 and had the washer and dryer come with it. In June it just quit, like it had no power going to it. After about 3 wks a repair man came and replaced a part on it and got it running but then there were other issues. So he replaced the other parts and still shuts off during cycle and the drum beats the washer to death and makes the worst noise. So I am 2 months in and still no working washing machine. I do not recommend this washer or Frigidaire!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy this washing machine Do not buy this washing machine. I'd rate it with no stars but that option is not available. I'm just getting ready to load up my car for my monthly trip to the laundromat. As other owners have posted, this machine gets stuck in the wash cycle and will not drain. I have to ring the clothes out by hand and hang them up to finish dripping out excess water before I can put them in the dryer. When it gets to this point -- when it will not drain -- it takes a minimum of 2 to 3 days for the electronic memory to clear out so I can use it again. On average this happens every 10 days. I've been logging it's malfunction over the last few months; I've owned it for 13 months. I've tried doing very small loads of laundry and using it less frequently (I have a family of 4 usually do one load of laundry daily). I will never buy another Frigidaire appliance.
