Does this model offer varying levels of water fill to cover small, medium and large washloads?

How long last?

Asked by: ALTA
Can't speak to this particular model but had a Frigidaire washer for 11+ years; a Frigidaire fridge was in the home before I moved in that was green (you know it was old) and used it for 11+ years (was still working when I decided I wanted white), have Frigidaire dryer 11+ years and freezer. I want another washer like this one but dimensions a bit too large for my space. Family members always buying new washers every couple years due to various problems. Read in consumer reports that Frigidaire had fewer repairs than other models. And at least the drum isn't plastic.

How long is the casual cycle?

Asked by: gnrltt
Hi gnrlit, thank you for your inquiry submission. A general wash cycle when using appliance model FFTW1001PW, can last up to 45 minutes. Please note that this timeframe varies based on size of load and intensity of wash cycle chosen. 3.4 cu. ft. Top Load Washer with Stainless Steel Tub in White is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 162.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Makes washing a dreadful chore The builder put this washer in our recently-purchased new home. We didn't buy it or choose it. It goes out of balance and stops on almost every load, even when we have distributed the items in the tub as evenly as possible. Even after multiple tries to correct the problem, some loads just won't spin. We're not overloading the machine. We've checked to make sure that it's level and followed all the other related troubleshooting tips in the owner's guide. I haven't yet called Frigidaire for service. Also, the clothes end up more twisted than in any other washer I've owned, and when we dry them after this wash we're losing way more fiber to lint. (I think that's because the clothes get beat up in the wash.) This washer doesn't have some features I would require in a purchase we made, but we were planning to make the best of it. So far, it's a nightmare. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Glad it came with the house Washer came with my new home. I would never purchase it on my own. It takes too long to wash clothes and doesn't have a way to go on to other parts of the cycle. It gives off balance notices even when only 3 items are in it and it isn't unbalanced.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Some good and not so good features This washer came with our new house. We like the capacity, the stainless steel tub. We don't like that the lid locks once you press the start button so you can't add cloths, or you can't add detergent as it fills the tub . you have to put detergent in first. The machine doesn't clean soiled clothes very well, ie. Socks. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 2 out of 5 by from My Least Favorite Oh all of my appliances the washer is my least favorite. It's a little noisy and the cycles are very long. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very noisy machine This was an brand new appliance with our new home. The sensing cycle sounds like the gears are grinding, and the drain pump is extremely loud. We've had a tech come in twice bc I've never had such a loud machine before, and he assured me it was normal. The drain pump is apparently mounted to the casing which is why it sounds like a jet plane taking off and wakes up from my son from his nap. It does seem to clean the clothes. If your machine is in your basement or garage the noise won't bother you. But if you have a laundry room centrally located I suggest a much quieter machine. I also agree with other reviews, it becomes off balance very easily.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst washer I've ever had. We purchased a nice, new, upper end home and paid extra to have all new appliances installed before we closed. Within the first 2 months we had problems with our washer and have had 4 repair visits so far and we have only had it 10 months. This unit is exceptionally loud, has a water sensor that goes and then it won't fill with water, it bounces around a lot which I think could cause some of the problems. The repair man has checked installation and made sure it's level. We certainly don't want to start needing to pay for the continued service calls in 2 months when the warranty ends.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not working. We bought this product used but it looked practically brand new. We hooked it up and it seemed to be working for a couple of days but it was making an array of strange noises. After a few loads it began freezing up part way though the cycle. The lights flash and it won't wash and won't drain. The care manual says it is out of balance when this happens but we try balancing it and it still won't do anything. We tried emptying the washer by hand and re-leveling, and switching power off and on again. The machine starts up and freezes again a few minutes in. I wish the washer at least had a drain only option so we don't have to scoop out all the water by hand. This "going out of balance" seems to be a common issue and I think the machine is flawed.
