We wanted a wine cooler that would be in a living area, so wanted it to be quiet. The Firgidaire is so quiet that I have to put my my hand on it to see if there is any vibration from the compressor because I can't hear it running at all (and, no, I do not have hearing loss)!
To reach the capacity indicated requires loading the cooler carefully. We are members of a wine club that has somewhat bulky bottles and we can get them to fit. Can even get a couple of champagne bottles in particular spots. The only thing that didn't fit at all except sideways was a skinny but tall bottle of dessert wine.

I know the other reviewers stated that the bottles don't fit, but the really do if you put them in properly. I thought the same thing in the beginning, and noticed that I had to the shelving all wrong.. there is a certain way to put the shelves in so bottles fit. I have some pretty big, heavy, expensive ones in there and I managed ok. It took a bit, but overall, it is better than the last one I had. It had a loud compressor and didn't hold temperature. This one does and it is stylish and sleek. if all the shelving is in properly, it works just fine... It is tight, you can put bottles on top of bottles, but it works.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Mike3 Good, but
I purchased this because it was the right size for me. Mostly agree w/ other reviewers. Does cycle more often than my other wine refrigerators, but only occasionally. I'm using it for pinots & Rhones so, I had to remove 3 bottom shelves to be able to reach the 42-bottle capacity. I'm using this fridge for wines that will be aged for awhile, so that's OK. Wish someone would make a good 40-50 bottle wine fridge that's 2 inches wider so chard, pinot, syrahs & Turley zins will fit properly,

Bought this to replace a Whirlpool cooler (made by Danby in China) that quit working after 3 years. It was relatively easy to set up and has worked well thus far (2 weeks) at default temp of 54 degrees. Not sure it will hold 42 bottles but 30-35 should fit relatively well. One zone so put reds on top and whites near bottom. Seems to run quietly but it is in garage so hope temps below 50 and over 80 aren't a problem. My main concern is durability so will be anxious to see if Frigidaire name holds up better than Whirlpool name did.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fixit54 Great product
We just purchased this for our cabin. It is very nice looking. I had read about the noise from the refrigeration unit, but ours is very quiet. You can barely hear it run.
Whether or not you can actually get 42 bottles in it, I couldn't say, but since it's at our cabin and my wine cellar is in our home, I don't expect to keep more than a dozen bottles in it, so it really doesn't matter to me.
It also has a lock at the base of the door, which is a nice feature if you have kids around.
All-in-all, I am very pleased with it so far.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by juice Unknown limits
Initial impression is of good quality. Easy to set up. Down side is the size of bottles is limited to smaller average size bottles. Slightly larger than average cause poor fit and limit number of bottles able to be stored. Only good for average size bottles. I would not recommend without caveat of bottle size limits.

A year and a half ago I purchased a model FWC425GSO, admittedly not the identical unit, but very similar. It holds about 35 normal sized but not identical bottles, no matter how they are stacked. The refrigerator has failed and the authorized repair company told me it is so cheaply and poorly made that it isn't economically possible to fix. The warranty, had it still been in effect, required an exchange of the entire unit, not a replacement of the particular compressor part, which is unavailable. My view--this cooler is a waste of money.

Although advertised as doing so, this product does not hold 41 bottles. Disappointing.
