Hi,
Does this have an "energy save" mode or similar that shuts off the fan when the compressor turns off? (Most window units have this.)
Thanks

The fan on this model will continuously operate as long as you have the system turned on. However, you can select the auto fan mode and the fan speeds will automatically adjust between the three speeds available during operation, dependant on heat load in the room.
Again, the only fan that cycles off is the condenser fan that discharges the warm air to the outdoors through the vent hose. The indoor fan runs continously. Read Less

Hi Peas,
Thank you for your inquiry! Provide occasional ventilation during use. Do not direct airflow at fireplaces or other heat related sources as this could cause flare ups or make units run excessively.
We hope this information is of assistance.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Global warming has nothing on me. I did not know how much humidity was in the air until I saw how much water my little Frigidaire® AC removed from my apartment. “It’s Hot BUT It’s A Dry Heat”. Remove some moisture from the room and it becomes another pleasant day. I didn’t know how cool it could get with just a portable 7000 BTU AC. July 18, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Beating the heat! 've had this unit around a month now and we've had triple digit heat. My a/c has kept the shop nice and cool. I've learned to keep an eye on the humidity, as this affects how often I need to drain it. It does run a little loud, but not extremely. It needs to be turned on before the shop heats up, or it can't catch up. This is due to the shop is not connected to the central unit of our house and is a stand alone building. If I turn it on when it's still cool, it works great, keeping it at whatever temperature it's set at, regardless of how hot it is outside. The most negative thing, and it's small, is the bottom drain. The location makes it difficult to get a pan under, and I didn't want to run a hose, but that would be the best setup. September 20, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Does the job Cools the amount of space it claims to and does it in a reasonable amount of time. User interface is good - simple and clear. It is a bit loud, but I am not sure there is any way around that for an air conditioner of this size. Has a nice neutral appearance so it is not an eyesore. The only complaint is that the hose fitting on the window fitting is not well designed and it can be very difficult to keep the hose connected to the window attachment when installing. Since it is portable and we move it around, this is a real problem and should be redesigned. August 26, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by does the job While the room I use it in is on the larger side, it still cools well. After reading several awful reviews I couldn't help but to attempt to do this unit some justice. I am currently using the unit in a space around 270 sq. ft. It doesn't get SUPER cold but it's definitely worth it. As for the reviews for needing a garden hose, I thought that too after reading the instructions. However, the unit comes with a short plastic hose you can attach to the back to drain the water from the unit. you just detach the rubber plug from unit and stick the hose in it's place. So simple. In more humid conditions you would drain the water more frequently ( I drain water maybe once every other day as a precaution) Just make sure you stick the plug back in the unit afterwards so that it doesn't leak everywhere. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Frigidaire Portable Air Conditioner I happen to have 2 of these. One I bought New. One I bought Used. The new air conditioner gets cold, however, it consistently drains a lot of water. I read the manual...but no matter what setting I put it on, it keeps draining lots of water. The used air conditioner, which was repaired prior to my purchase, doesn't drain any water at all. I'm having trouble finding a repair location. September 19, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great appliance! I bought it two months ago, and it works excellent. September 16, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by did not work appropriately, possibly defective unit Complete window unit too small, my Windows slide open, so slider which had exhaust heat blowing outside too short had to have custom extension made to fit with unit. Although it was properly installed the unit leaked water all over my carpet several times, even after checking unit to see if it needed to be emptied. It did do a great job cooling my area but not happy with mess on carpet, and having to have a carpenter to make an added piece for window, it should of came with one for that price. Due to issues with water leaking from unit even after checking to see if it needed to be emptied, and my carpet and pad being damaged I returned unit, there was not another like unit to try in its place, only slight problem returning even though I had copied my e-mail receipt, and I had purchased it on my home depot credit card there should of been no questions it clearly showed, I purchased it from your store. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Improved features and performance compared to my previous portable, this unit has much improved water handling and user controls October 21, 2015
