Customer Questions & Answers

How much area will it cover? What does "continuos drain operation" mean?

It says continuous drain operation. What does that mean if not attach a hose? How large an area will this cover. I have a basement 20' x 40' half of which is a ground plastic covered crawl space the rest about 6 1/2 ' high. Which size dehumidifier do you recommend. The hose will go to a macerating unit.
Asked by: Robert
My basement is 26 x 40. Continuous drain operation means u need a drain. Sooo the hose u hook to it drains the dehumidifier continuously.

Customer Reviews

70-Pint Dehumidifier is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2395.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Pleased for a bit, then . . . The dehumidifier worked very well at first but now it gives a "not working" display. The book suggests unplugging the unit, waiting a few minutes and starting it again. It runs a bit and quits again--same note on display. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as advertised. We've had this for about three months and it works better than any other dehumidifier we've owned. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quiet and powerful I've had the unit for about two months. It does an excellent job of pulling A LOT of moisture out of the air in a short amount of time. It is also fairly quiet which is nice because I work from home in a basement office and the dehumidifier is right outside the door. The only complaint I have is with the humidity setting. If I set it at 50% it seems to cycle on and off as it should (in fact now that the weather has turned much colder the unit is almost never on). But if I turn it down to 45% the fan runs almost constantly and the compressor can be heard cycling on and off frequently. I'm not sure why it does this. Rated 2 out of 5 by from Stopped Working After 4 Months Purchased this one after I received a refund for the FFAD7033R1 that stopped working a few months after purchased due to a F0 code. Decided to go back to Frigidaire with purchasing this unit because I already have another one. I purchased this model on Jun 20, 2016 and it frosted up several times in October (4 months later). Called customer service and was issued another refund. Guess the quality is not there with these dehumidifiers. The other FAD704DWD that I mentioned was purchased in 2015, and that one is still running fine (fingers crossed). [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from CONTINUOUS DRAINAGE DOES NOT WORK - DISAPOINTED I bought this less than a month ago, and since then I have been trying to get more detailed info to troubleshoot why the the water does not go into the hose and it keeps filling the bucket and I have to empty it. The installer followed the very poor instructions in the manual but the drainage remains being done in the bucket, it never drains with the hose. I have six pictures ready to upload but the site is not alowi ng. I will be glad to send by email and I really hope that Frigidaire will contact me thru email and assist before I take the unit back and purchase another brand... Thank you

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quietly does it's work. I suppose it was nearly a month ago that I purchased this unit and from day one I could see the difference in the amount of moisture it removed compared to an older unit. It was easy to hook up a hose to my floor drain so I simply followed the instructions in the manual and just simply does what it's supposed to do. I don't own an expensive device for measuring humidity so I'm unable to measure it that way... I just see the pulsation trickles of water coming out the end of the hose to know it is working. Yes, I'd buy it again. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeded expectations We get a lot of rain in Western Washington and I wish I had bought one years ago. I use it in a small closed garage and it removes about a gallon of water per day. I can feel the difference when I work in the garage. It doesn't feel as cold as before and my tools are not rusting. The FAD704DWD is simple to use and effective it is. I keep the fan on high speed most of the time, but a 3-speed fan would be nice to have. I checked the internet to determine which model would be best for me, and I am glad that I chose the Frigidaire. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product at a reasonable price! I have two dehumidifiers in my basement and one of them needed to be replaced. I decided to purchase the Frigidaire FAD704DWD because it was basically the same model as the one that is still running and I have been very satisfied with it. This dehumidifier does a nice job of keeping the humidity at the desired level and is reasonably quiet while operating with two fan speeds to choose from. I researched via the internet and Consumers Report prior to purchasing and this dehumidifier was rated very good by most consumers. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
