Customer Questions & Answers

How much area will it cover? What does "continuos drain operation" mean?

It says continuous drain operation. What does that mean if not attach a hose? How large an area will this cover. I have a basement 20' x 40' half of which is a ground plastic covered crawl space the rest about 6 1/2 ' high. Which size dehumidifier do you recommend. The hose will go to a macerating unit.
Asked by: Robert
My basement is 26 x 40. Continuous drain operation means u need a drain. Sooo the hose u hook to it drains the dehumidifier continuously.

Customer Reviews

70-Pint Dehumidifier is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2455.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Worked great until YEAR 3 - then has FAILED! Worked like a champ for the first three years. Almost exactly 3 years old, unit now runs continuously and very little water is removed. It is freezing up below the coils during the spring/summer months here in Indiana when basement is warmer. Shouldn't the warranty cover mechanical (coolant?) failure? [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Pleased for a bit, then . . . The dehumidifier worked very well at first but now it gives a "not working" display. The book suggests unplugging the unit, waiting a few minutes and starting it again. It runs a bit and quits again--same note on display. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Won't hold basement at 40% It's quiet, and it does work, just not as well as I hoped it would. Keep your expectations low and you won't be disappointed. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dehumidifier is awesome I had this same dehumidifier for 4 years then it got caught in a recall so I did what needed doing & got money back & bought the exact same one again. It is the BEST, my garage has been flooding for over 25 years so we have always used dehumidifiers for that reason but now I am addressing the reason for the constant flooding & getting things FIXED so I don't need it 24/7. Almost have garage non flooding now. This dehumidifier works great and even has a washable filter to protect the unit. It sucks up a lot of water. After garage is flood free I will bring it into the house. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from CONTINUOUS DRAINAGE DOES NOT WORK - DISAPOINTED I bought this less than a month ago, and since then I have been trying to get more detailed info to troubleshoot why the the water does not go into the hose and it keeps filling the bucket and I have to empty it. The installer followed the very poor instructions in the manual but the drainage remains being done in the bucket, it never drains with the hose. I have six pictures ready to upload but the site is not alowi ng. I will be glad to send by email and I really hope that Frigidaire will contact me thru email and assist before I take the unit back and purchase another brand... Thank you
