Answer:
It is normal. Once the desired temp is reached, this serves to circulate the air and maintain the temp efficiently. If you don't like this, you can use Cool mode, which keeps the fan on.

8,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 159.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from NOT COOLING AS WELL I've been using this brand new window a/c for a month now. On the low speed it cooled well but has a loud crackling noise. The noise is less on the medium speed. Also, I was able to cool my bedroom on the low speed but now I have to use the medium speed. Why would a brand new a/c stop cooling as well on low speed & why is there a loud crackling sound only on the low speed?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Temperature sensor is off I bought it and it seems to work great but the temperature sensor reads 5 degrees cooler than it really is. I have verified this through 3 different devices which were all within 1 degree of each other but the air conditioner always thinks its 5 degrees cooler than it really is. Not sure where the sensor is

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Speedy to cool We have two of these units and are very pleased with the speed with which they cool the room s(and frankly most of small upstairs floor). They are pretty quiet and the 3 speed fan options are great. I am not keen on the sleep function as makes the room too warm. Overall great unit

Rated 2 out of 5 by from TOO NOISY The unit cools quite well, but it's too noisy for a bedroom. It makes this loud continuous crackling noise that keeps me up at night & I only run it on low, so it's not the fan speed. It's hard to tell if there is something wrong with the unit or this is just the way it sounds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeping us cool! The unit we purchased is installed in a kitchen window which faces the hallway. The cool air flows directly down the the adjoining rooms keeping us comfortable during the hot days and humid nights.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cools Great! I have had this through the summer. So far, very pleased with the unit. Cools quickly. A little noiser than my previous model, but I can live with it. It is a great value for the money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very hot! It was used very little at a family cabin. After the warranty ran out the sensor failed to work. Of course, this was in 90 degree weather. I would not recommend this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The unit iced up and leaked freon Woke up to a hot room and the unit making a funny noise, got up to turn off the unit and opened the front to find a sheet of ice and a dead unit. Very dissatisfying!
